Very disappointed in our experience here and the overall restaurant service at Meritage Resort and Spa. A few days before our reservation here we got a call that they moved our reservation to the Embers Steakhouse but would still be serving Olive and Hay food. Weird to get that call but just figured the restaurant itself was being used for different purposes or maintenance. We show up to Embers for our reservation and then they say they have a select menu for the night, so I asked if they were serving Italian dishes from Olive and Hay and they said no. We ended up just leaving because they only had a few things from the original Embers menu itself and it was all pretty much steak which we didn't want. Ended up driving off the resort to get dinner, and am overall astounded by the confusion and lack of communication from the resort regarding restaurant services.

had to drop off our daughter to her GF who was staying on site of resort and we decided to have lunch here. sat outside in patio by the fountain, which was slightly noisy - pleasant weather - though the tiny gnats were cumbersome slightly. nice firepit was on! food was presented well. pasta was too al dente for my liking, but the lamb sauce was tender and tasty. love the pear, gorgonzola salad was large enough to share! cocktails and wine were reasonable price for location.

Our server Da was excellent and he provided great service. The wine and food were both exceptional, recommend the tiramisu!

I dined at Shearwater Restaurant recently and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. I ordered the prawns, which looked very different from the photos shown on the restaurant's website. More concerning, the texture and taste didn't resemble what I would expect from prawns at all. I brought this up with our waitress Alexis , who acknowledged my concern but ultimately explained that the prawns are “seasonal” and left it at that. No alternative, replacement, or adjustment was offered, which was frustrating given the clear mismatch. She also seemed perturbed I ended up leaving greatly dissatisfied and felt that my concern wasn't taken seriously. I had actually planned to return for another reservation but decided to cancel based on this experience. I emailed the manager and never heard back which was even further disappointing Sharing this in hopes that the restaurant improves how it handles situations like this, as good service recovery would have made a big difference.

Food and service was fantastic. The brunch menu had multiple items on it that I would have wanted to order. The drinks and food came out quickly and all correct. Coffee and water refills were continuously offered. Everyone loved what they had (highly recommend the breakfast sandwich). For the location, I thought the prices weren't over-the-top either. Would definitely go back!

Our server was amazing and the food was pretty good. Only downside is it was very loud and hard to converse with each other.

I had salmon which was cooked to perfection and my friend had the lamb oso bucco. Dinner was delicious. We also ordered the focaccia bread which was super good. Our waiter brought a raspberry sorbet to the birthday girl and also gave me one!

Our Saturday night experience was nice here at Olive and Hay at the Meritage Resort and Spa. We were staying on the property, and were able to walk to the restaurant, but valet was available as well as street parking. The volume inside the restaurant was a little tough to hear conversation and the server's offerings, but this was the only negative to the experience. The cocktails were good and reasonably priced. The food was excellent, and the service was attentive. A good experience.

The food was plain. The service was slow and selection was limited. A guest was clearly intoxicated and managed did nothing but watch.

Severely understaffed. 1. Stood at the front for 10 minutes waiting to check in for my reservation with nobody there and a lobby full of people waiting. 2. Greeted and served drinks immediately upon seating. The order was taken and the food was served in a timely manner from a different server. I had to ask for the bread I ordered after the meal was served which took another 10 minutes. My wife and I never seen a server again. We sat at the table for 40 minutes after our meal was finished. I never had my coffee or water refilled.

The food was delicious but the value for the Valentine's Day dinner was not as expected. The service and staff was amazing but the mood was just not there. Maybe it was just us?

Spent time across the way at the Vino Bello Resort. Restaurant is conveniently located. Just a quick walk. The food and service were exceptional. Definitely would recommend and return.

Woooowwwwww. The food at Olive and Hay was PHENOMONAL!!! Wilbert made it extra special celebrating a birthday and girls night. The pasta and burrata was memorable. I will definitely be back. This is a hidden gem.
