Busy, loud - recommend sitting upstairs for noise levels but only one server meant we waited a LONG time even to order drinks. While the server was helping us she was not attentive and the experience did not feel elevated although the food was great as always.

Wanted to love the food, but it's just not very good, we live in Napa so we are familiar with all the restaurants, was very excited to dine in here. The restaurant was very crowded. Lots of people waiting for seating, very nice atmosphere inside, service was really good, nice wine list. But just felt the food was extremely average, which was disappointing...

This was our first time going to Scala.  my son chose it to celebrate his 16th birthday. We absolutely loved this restaurant. The staff was amazing, great customer service. I go to Napa a lot and have noticed that Napa has gone downhill at wineries and at restaurants when it comes to customer service. The food was 10/10!  we loved the watermelon salad and the calamari was the best I've ever had. Every dish was great. We will definitely become regulars here. Great job Scala  for bringing class back to Napa!

I took my girlfriend here for her 18th birthday and it was a great experience for both of us. Great food and great service. Highly recommend the $7 bread appetizer. They wrote her a sweet card that we really appreciated.

Celebrated my birthday and was seated upstairs and greeted with a card! The food is amazing and quick service. Highly recommend if you're visiting Napa!

We went to Scala on a Saturday night at 6pm. The restaurant was very busy. The pasta was good but the pan seared branzino was overcooked and dry. The Zeppole was fabulous! Our waiter was very helpful and allowed up to sample the wines we were interested in. In the process I discovered a new favorite. We would go back to Scala's to try other things — and have the zeppole for desert.

A perfect day! We started with the Calamari Fritti followed by a Caesar Salad and then Spaghetti con Gamberi e Vongole and shared all of the dishes accompanied by a wonderful Cakebread Reserve Chardonnay from our cellar. As stated earlier- PERFECTION!!

Superb oysters, veal ,and whole roasted fish. Bright, refreshing Gazpacho and perfect soft polenta. A superior wine list unafraid to champion fine Italian producers in the heart of Napa. (A couple of Franciacorta wines in the sparkling section would be a plus...)Service is totally on point as the well trained staff work beautifully together. I'd like to recommend that the tables for 2, which run down the center of the restaurant BE REMOVED. They are so small our table was barely large enough to hold our plates of food and drink. It is also uncomfortable to sit and enjoy lunch with people constantly walking by. The mushroom pizza that everyone raves about is SPICY, I couldn't eat it. This is the 5th time my husband and I have eaten there, we've always enjoyed our meal, the Oysters are FANTASTIC, staff was so. so. The usual vibe was missing during this visit.

I will give a detailed review for those who would like specifics besides 'Excellent'-which it was. I am a local. Work at a winery and am 1st generation to Italian parents. I had very high expectations. Scala meets them. The best Calamari fritti, light batter, nice portion. Olive fritti-perfect nibble for drinks. Since my father used to catch octopus with his hands-I know octopus. Warm poached octopus is wonderful. A new favorite and again a nice portion. Someone had the special pulled pork sandwich. Pork melted in the mouth. We shared 2 pizzas; Wild mushroom sausage very good. If I have to give one suggestion, since I'm a basil lover, more basil on the Margherita pizza. Service outstanding from reception to wait staff. We have decided to make Scala our once a month meeting place with friends. A new favorite restaurant!

First time visiting Napa and we had a wonderful time here! We started with the oysters and Calamari which were both good. The pesto pasta was so unique and flavorful. Portions were great if you are a leftovers person. Service was a little slow getting to our table, but she was very kind and on it once the initial greeting occurred. Would absolutely return.
