amazing menu items, started with yellowtail, vegetarian spring rolls, banh Nam, then cellophane noodles, lemongrass tofu and eggplant, and to finish a plum tart, great wine list, discovered a great bottle of Austria wine. smooth service, perfectly timed and great server, the only issue was the table location next to the kitchen, stay away from that table but otherwise an amazing evening.
We had a great lunch. Food and service were excellent. Also, discount on champagne at brunch is a nice touch
The service was atrocious and so appalling that we will not return. We ordered drinks and after waiting twenty minutes, someone in our party had to go to the bar and ask for them. The server told us he forgot the drinks because he was too busy writing down our food allergies (there was one). Further into the meal, we ordered another round of drinks and waited another 20 minutes (keep in mind, the restaurant was not busy). The same person in our party tracked down the sommelier to ask for the drinks and he was incredibly rude and condescending (I'll spare the details about his behavior). I asked to speak to the General Manager and she was completely flippant about the entire situation and I did not walk away with the confidence that she's effectively managing the restaurant. She removed the service charge so at least acknowledged how poorly delivered our experience was. I would heavily recommend other Asian inspired restaurants before going to Slanted Door (e.g., Morimoto, Carabao, etc.).
One of the best restaurants in Napa - staff is incredible and food is amazing. Maury the somm is especially knowledgeable and engaging - incredible Riesling selection pairs perfectly with the food!
When you go to the Slanted door you are treated like family! The staff welcomes us with open arms❣️
Great vibe, great food!
We love everything about this place. The food, service, dining room. So lovely. My only input is that it gets VERY loud when the dining room is full. Some sound absorbing panels would definitely help.
Every bite was amazing from the first to the last. Beautiful setting and excellent food - such a wonderful evening.

We ate inside this time, fairly quiet which was nice. Great food and we split a lot of dishes. We love going here!!
Was it pricey? Yes. Was it worth it? 100%.
We came in without high expectations since it doesn’t look like a traditional Vietnamese restaurant — but after just a few bites, I knew I was completely wrong. The Slanted Door does an incredible job of elevating classic Vietnamese family-style dishes while keeping their true flavors and generous portions. Delicious Vietnamese food made with real, quality ingredients, yet presented in a way that perfectly fits the luxury vibe of Napa Valley — I completely understand and respect that.
The dessert menu seems to change often, but the chè chuối I had tasted just like home. Overall, a genuinely satisfying experience that anyone who loves Vietnamese food should try.

This is our new favorite spot for dinner in Napa. We were lucky to get a table on a Saturday night and luckier to have Jazzy as our server. We asked her what she would suggest we order. Her face lit up as she graced us with her extensive knowledge of a very full menu. Every dish she suggested was excellent. If you like Asian food and want something different make sure you get in here and ask for Jazzy. You will find this to be an exceptional dining experience. ❤️

You know it wasn't very crowded on this Sunday evening and the service was phenomenal. I had a great wine list, including many NAPA and French options. For food, we had the yellowtail which was very good but not my favorite preparation. Still was fresh and delicious and I had the chicken clay pot that was off the charts. Very very good. Very light sauce with a lot of ginger anyway enjoy the evening.
Our server Jazzy was fantastic! Food was exceptional as always. Everything came quick and hot and fresh. Love it!
Very interesting selection of food choices that were all very tasty. We had several appetizers and they were all excellent. The BBQ ribs are meant for 2 people or a main course for one; outstanding! While there are indoor sections of the restaurant, the main area is a courtyard with many trees; it's lovely. Be careful not to order too much food, which is easy to do as there is so much that is good.
I hosted a business dinner for six at the Slanted Door in Napa and had an outstanding experience. I requested a quiet location in the restaurant so we could discuss business, and the staff generously accommodated us with a room that perfectly responded to my request.
Our server was friendly and knowledgeable--noting the history and style of the restaurant, the seasonal menu changes, locally sourced ingredients, and made suggestions based on our questions. The Slanted Door recommended ordering family style so we could experience as many dishes as possible, and we took them up on their suggestion. The service in general was unobtrusive and highly professional--changing plates, adding flatware, and refreshing drinks without disturbing conversation.
The food was exceptional. No dish was under seasoned. Every dish was cooked perfectly and seasoned to the point where each ingredient and the overall dishes' umami flavors were maximized. When hosting a meal, I was taught to order enough so that no one leaves the table hungry so we did order many dishes. Here are my notes.
For appetizers, we ordered the Yellowtail, Spring Rolls, Banh Bot Loc dumplings, and BBQ Ribs. The BBQ ribs were the star of the first course. Perfectly cooked so the meat was tender and separated from the bone cleanly and glazed with an addictive savory-sweet sauce, these ribs were unforgettable. However, every appetizer was good.
For the main course, we ordered the Shaking Beef, Salmon, Lemongrass Pork Chop, Pork Belly Claypot, Eggplant, and Cellophane Noodles. Each was excellent, but the Pork Chop was the best pork dish I have had in years. It was flavorful and melt-in-your mouth tender.
For dessert, we ordered the Olive Oil Cake, Pavlova, Che Bap (which is a rice pudding). The Pavlova was the standout. The fruit and meringue were sweet and crisp.
There are many choices in Napa, but I would not hesitate to recommend the Slanted Door.
