Tony was an incredible and knowledgeable host. I would recommend Sleeping Giant to anyone. After many big name tastings it was incredibly refreshing to tour a family owned establishment. True masters of the craft with a great story. Catch them early before they’re the talk of the town!
Our visit to Sleeping Giant Winery was exceptional. From the tour, to the wine, to the elegant and classy experience to the best host Sam. We toured 8 wineries while in Sonoma/Napa last week and by far Sleeping Giant was the top pick for our group. Thank you again for a wonderful time!
This is a wonderful winery. The host was very personable and informative. The wines were excellent. Intimate venue. We definitely recommend you visit this winery.
We had a amazing time and would highly recommend. Sam did a great job making it a very enjoyable experience. The wines were excellent!
My wife and I spent a few hours at Sleeping Giant last week with Addie. It was a tremendous experience. The conversation was very natural and never forced. The wine was tremendous. We would highly recommend anyone who enjoys wine to spend a few hours here
Excellent wines, views, and tasting room. Enjoyed learning about this great winery with our host, Tony, and would highly recommend!
Had a really wonderful first experience at Sleeping Giant. Sam took wonderful care of us and his passion is infectious. Lovely wines and great family story. We'll fans for life!
Wonderful family winery, the owners personally take you through the operation themselves. This was totally different than the other sales forward winery tastings. No pressure, great wines, lovely people. They were so kind they even gave us a special bottle from 2010 when we told them we were there for our 15th wedding anniversary.
This wines were as good or better than any of the big name brands; their Pinot was my favorite of the 6 day trip and their Howell mountain cab replaced my favorite from Sequoia. Get in there now while you still can. What a hidden gem.
A must stop! Convenient to San Francisco, beautiful property & tasting room, and delicious, unique wines.
Sleeping Giant is a great spot for wine tasting. It has a beautiful patio close to the vines or an elegant indoor space (if weather is not so favorable). It is a family owned winery, which is so much nicer than the big corporate ones so common now in the Valley. They have a good selection of whites and reds. My favorites are the Sauvignon Blanc, the Pinot, and the amazing Coombsville Cab (a must buy!).

Our recent tasting at Sleeping Giant was over the top. Family owned and operated, their red wines were delicious, and their new facility impressive. Sam, the owners son, was our host. He was hilarious and couldn't have been nicer and more knowledgeable. We will continue to purchase their wines which offer high QPR. Highly recommend!
One of the best wine tastings I’ve had. Tony was great at showing us the property. The experience was personal and not commercialized like a lot of places. Will be back, no doubt
What a fantastic tasting experience at Sleeping Giant. Located right in the heart of the Carneros region, just as you enter Napa Valley off Cuttings Wharf Road. Their gracious, welcoming team made us feel right at home. The wines are truly extraordinary; beautifully balanced, opulent with soft finesse and just a hint of oak. Chris Dearden's expertise in cooperage is evident in his luscious wines. Tony, Amanda and Val took fabulous care of us from the moment we drove up the driveway we felt their warm hospitality. Sleeping Giant is a must see for any visitor (and local) to Napa Valley. I cannot wait to return. Cheers!
Absolute class. Small, family owned, winery. Extremely educational and the wine speaks for itself. Very excited to be a new wine club member and receive our first shipment in time for the holiday season.
Chris has created an incredible atmosphere to enjoy wine and tour his eco-friendly winery. Tony, our wine/tour guide, not only knows his wines but is a true classic car aficionado. You have to include this winery in your Napa Valley experience. You won’t be disappointed.
