I wrote a review for the Mira Mesa store (which I’m sure is good too!) by accident but needed to for this location, which is my go to when I come into town and want silog for breakfast. I believe the workers name is Tammy who works the front? She recognized me from before and she was very nice! Keep good workers like that! Will be back soon! And of course food is 🤤

The food was great, fresh and nostalgic! Came in for an early lunch, ordered the beef noodle soup with siopao in the side and chao fun fried rice! We have our meals freshly served and steaming hot. Ive had their fried chicken to go before, I would recommend it as well, its very garlicky! Would comeback but not on busy hours.
They nice rice meals and noodles. The only downside is the wait sometimes.

Beef broccoli was so very good unlike the panda it's too sweet. This is the beef broccoli I want not to sweet. And sir barry and mikayla was aggressive when I order 6+1 siopao sir barry was preparing it already I was shocked like in 10 secs they can do that.

Food was great and delicious and im so happy that they have chao fan now. The service was very good i thought i was in the philippines they are nice and friendly also smiling. Also sir barry was a good supervisor he is so nice and kind. Im gonna refer my friend in this store to try the halo halo so they could beat the heat summer is coming.

Ordered online and picked up. Everything is fresh and tastes great. The fried chicken is amazingly great. It's crispy and juicy. The soups are great, the siopao (steamed bun with meat inside) really delicious. I've ordered pancit noodles and black peppered beef and really good too. You have to try the halo-halo dessert. Very yummy! Only think I wasn't wild about is their Lumpiang Shanghai (spring rolls) they were small and kind of tasteless compared to many. But overall they are great and very nice staff.
Food is always great every time I come here. Clean bathroom. Good atmosphere. 5 ⭐️
Update 3/27/25: Came in at 8pm and ordered my food, was told by cashier they are only doing to-go orders which I said was fine. Then I asked but can I eat it here real quick, and he said no because they are about to close. Then I ask what time do they close and he said 8:30pm. It literally says here on Google Maps they close at 9:00pm. New review: 3 ⭐️

The first meal I got upon arrival in San Diego! Missed the Filipino fave fast-food. I was looking for chow fan but they don't offer it.
They have ample amount of parking and dine in space has a good size.
We experienced multiple issues having lunch at Chowking - National City yesterday. 1. There's hair on rice. The rest of the staff, including the manager, wore hairnets except for the guy scooping rice on every order. 2. While preparing orders, a staff member wearing gloves started touching her shoes and went to the trash can to dig for crumpled tickets. She continued preparing the orders without changing her gloves. I had to point out what I saw and asked her to change her gloves before touching any orders. 3. We were served fridge-cold asado siopao. According to the manager, the heater is not working properly.
Chowking should have refunded customers who ordered asado siopao if the heater was not working correctly instead of serving it cold. The cleanliness in preparing the food is the most concerning aspect. Staff should remember to replace their gloves if they start scratching their head, touching their shoes, going through the trash, or touching anything other than food while wearing gloves.
There's always a chance to improve the service and cleanliness of preparing each order. Chowking management should consider re-training their staff on how to maintain top-quality service at all times.
