One of the very best places to get guisados in San Diego. Here you can walk away, having these delicious stews stuffed into tacos or gorditas or both. I feel sad that I am seeing reports that this restaurant has closed (hopefully only temporary due to the COVID-19 pandemic), as it is one of my favorite "cheap eats" Mexican restaurants.

The Gorditas themselves were okay. They did not have what they claim to have. We went around 3 and they ran out of half the menu. A gordita is supposed to have cheese. Ours did not. The quesadilla was delicious. Was looking forward to an Agua Fresca which they didn't have.

Lady took way too long with our order. Refused to give a receipt. She had a rotten attitude. Es increible. Antes el servicio esta muy bien. We spent like half and hour there. The food took way too long to get to us and the order was the same.

We are in town for my husbands 50th birthday and we had heard of Don Andres and we couldn't go home to Henderson Nevada without trying them. My mother is from Durango and they have the best Gorditas. So I was hoping to get that taste back and guess what they are delicious and we will for sure get our Gordita fix when visiting Chula Vista. We ordered my favorite ground beef with red sauce, bean and cheese, chorizo and papas, rajas con crema and pork in green chilie and they were delicious but I love my ground beef and red sauce. Thank you and I highly recommend if your looking for a traditional delicious Gordita.

Very delicious. The pork in adobo sauce was my favorite. Chicharron in red sauce was awesome also. Wife ordered the tinga de pollo. Machetes are huge. That machete/gordita/drink combo is a great deal

I went to visit Durango not long ago and had some awesome gorditas de guisados there, been looking for something similar since, and I have to say this place was great! Just what Iwanted. Friendly and fast service. I had their combo plate. Comes with 2 gorditas and one quesadilla for $8. Got gordita de rajas con queso y gordita de pollo con salsa verde. Both a little spicy but delicious, the quesadilla was great, tender meat and perfect with the green salsa from the salsa bar. Will definitely go back.

They have a wide variety of fillings with a few vegetarian options. The place is super clean and the staff is very friendly. I see on the menu they also have raspados.
