Beautiful environment and active as well so nice to eat and watch everything happen and very delicate as in the owner pays attention to detail and how the food is served. It’s not even an expensive place to eat. The food taste so good. I can’t believe I didn’t come here before.Kid-friendliness: Made food specifically for 9 month old. Soup de Fideo. One egg. And beans.

Food was fine (the beans are a highlight) but was what I feel was intentionally overcharged by $6 for my food due to being “new”. Be careful when you check out. They only take cash, probably for that

The best red menudo! Not spicy but full of flavor...just like home. They smother their tortilla chips with their beans!!! Delicious!

Pepitas has the most delicious home style Mexican food. Their Mexican hot chocolate and huevos a la mexicana are the best in the west!!! Just love it. It is a small but very cozy and friendly place to have a good hot meal.

We have gone there for a while, the food is good but every time we get the bill its always more than what we kept track of. This last time we asked for an itemized receipt and we got the run around. Our bill as we kept track of the menu price would have been around $28.00. He gave us bill for almost $36.00. When we questioned it, his explanation didn't make sense. We didn't leave a tip since he gave himself a large tip. Wont go there anymore. If you eat there keep track of the prices and get an itemized bill.

We've been going here for years but started paying attention to the bill because it seemed that it was too high. They never give you an itemized bill. They got annoyed with us for asking for a breakdown. This last time, we did the math and it turned out we were overcharged by 6 dollars. We always order the same meal and who knows how long this has been going on? This time however, we refused to leave a tip due to the fact that he obviously took it upon himself to tip for us. Absolutely, will not be returning. FYI make sure to keep track and get an itemized bill.

I loved the menudo!!! Good portion, no bones like some other places, good flavor, and personalized service. A mom and pops you gotta visit.

Stopped by Pepita's Cafe to grab a quick snack before a doc appointment. While we waited we were offered chips and salsa, the chips were warm and crispy, as though freshly fried. The salsa is spicy and well flavored. The restaurant is small and cozy, we were invited to sit while our snack was prepared. As we waited, the sounds and yummy fragrance coming from the kitchen were tantalizing, I cannot help but think of my abuelita and mama's cooking based on the delicious smells. We ordered a simple carne asada quesadilla and it came with salsa. The carne asada was well seasoned, peppery, and was cooked to perfection. The tortilla was slightly crispy with little bits of crunchy cheese...it was delightful! Highly recommend Pepita's Cafe, the food and service are wonderful.
