I have lived in Nevada city most of my life, and I have not experienced a better café/restaurant/pastry experience and bustling friendly communal internet workspace than what Communal Cafe offers. And I've just discovered that one of their sweetest employees, is also there fabulous pastry chef, who was trained in Paris, and makes the most incredible treats that I've ever had in our little town.Communal Café in my opinion is our finest food spot in Nevada city with the most delicious breakfast and lunch menu, and the warmest owners and staff. I love my little town of Nevada City and I am so grateful to have such a welcoming place to hang with friends and spend my remote workdays.Thanks y'all.

First time visiting this place. The environment was cozy while we waited for food and drinks. However, 3 stars because our order was initially forgotten, and when reminded, the food did not come put until 45 mins later. Coffee was okay. Disappointed but I may try again in the future because the place was busy.
It looked to be a coffee shop from the outside and just coming in the door, but the menu offered an array of fresh bakery items and some really fun breakfast and lunch dishes.We had a potato bowl, mushroom toast and a cinnamon cookie with a hot Chico chai, vanilla latte and mocha latte. The drinks were beautifully done with hearts in the froth of the milk and the chai a unique blend- spicy and not too sweet. Amazing.The potato bowl was loaded with healthy ingredients like carrots, sprouts, crispy potatoes and fresh eggs. The mushroom toast was a layered delight with sautéed oyster mushrooms, spinach, roasted garlic and and egg on top! So good! What a way to start your day.Very friendly cafe with a pleasant vibe. A must see if in the area.

Love love love this cafe. Great coffee, wonderful food, lovely management and truly a "dog friendly" cafe. Lots of tables and a great vibe. A lovely spot to grab your favorite cup of coffee.Don't bother going to BrewBakers cafe in Grass Valley as they are not a dog friendly cafe as advertised!
