Food was great. One of the best clubs out there. The guy taking orders this morning had zero personality. We had a table and they obviously didn't want us to stay because it was served in a to go bag. Seemed odd.

I always enjoy my time there and those egg bites. Yum! Just the right amount for me for breakfast. This is one of those independent coffee houses you want to make sure sticks around. So skip the big guys and pop in here. You'll be glad you did

If I ever make it back to Nevada City to see a show I will make it a point to return to Java John’s. I know some reviewers seemed to expect a fancier atmosphere, but this place is exactly what it should be. A good restaurant with friendly service on an old historic street. We ordered the club sandwich—one of the best I have had—and pasta salad and chocolate chip cookies. Really good experience. Highly recommend.

The food is good but the guy at the broad street location comes with poor manners. You're losing a lot of business by not taking orders over the phone , some people want to pick up their breakfast quick and call ahead.

There was not much of an atmosphere. It was 52° outside, and the coffee shop was full of flies. The tables were filthy, and flies were all over the cloth couch and chairs. The coffee tasted like they forgot to add coffee through the filter. The server behind the bar was very polite and friendly.

Nice place with friendly staff. I just got a regular coffee. The selection of sweeteners and such was minimal but adequate. The coffee was good.

Very rude man working there, the way he speaks to the customers is crazy! I’m shocked he hasn’t got punched in the mouth

The male worker is so rude and unprofessional. It took an hour to get 2 bagel sandwiches and 1 sandwich. They also did not take my order correctly.

I ordered some food to go and unfortunately I was not impressed. I ordered the Veggie Breakfast Burrito and a 12 oz Tumeric Elixer..The burrito had no flavor/ seasonings and the potatoes were burnt while the eggs were slimy and the drink was only filled 3/4 of the way. Overall disappointed.

Crowded and overpriced. $5 for a drip brew 16 oz. coffee (isn't anything special either, poured from a caraffe).

Tourist trap.
