Four of the staff called in sick. They also didn't have my reservation from OpenTable that was made months prior. Took over 30 minutes to get seated at a tiny table directly in front of the stage. Ugh. Hostess Jenna B. stepped up and was our server. After that all went well. She was kind and efficient and did not in the least show the stress they we under. Kudos to her!!
I didn't know they are no longer using Open Table for reservations, so it was a bit of a hassle although we got seated
Note: There is a parking lot both behind this restaurant, and also across Sacramento street to the left of a defunct restaurant. We didn't know about the second one, and had to park blocks away downtown. That said, when we called to say we were running late due to parking problems, the hostess said "No worries ! We'll hold a table for you!" We had asked for a quieter area of the restaurant, and yes, we were seated there. The owner greeted us at our table, drink orders were taken, and everything was delicious. The salads are HUGE - we each took 2 servings from the bowl and still took some home . While Oysters On The Half Shell were delicious, there were only three - for $11. Ouch. Bread costs extra, too, but again, it was very good. Wines are pricy at $14-18 a glass, but very high quality. So, we split the Flatiron Steak entree (very tasty) and it was plenty.
Everything, food, drinks, staff
We were a group of seven and enjoyed a private experience in the larger dining room. The food and service were excellent.
Everything was just ok. Service was subpar, food was just okay and definitely not worth the price. The building's really cool and The atmosphere is fun especially when there's a concert.

Right from entering the restaurant from the bar area I was immediately greeted by staff positively and asked to have a seat. Drinks were excellent and the food was a unique and exquisite experience. I highly recommend Stone House!!

We stumbled upon Stone House and were immediately taken in by the building’s location, history, beauty. The ambience, even at noon on a Thursday, was captivating. We enjoyed touring the entire facility and took it all in. We can only image how it would feel on a bustling evening with friends and family. Lunch was absolutely delicious! We tried two different sandwiches - both amazing - and shared a soup. Ingredients were fresh, organic; you could tell they put love into their meal planning. (This is definitely not standard pub food!) It was nearly impossible to save a sample to take home. We declined dessert as we had our sights set on chocolate to go. We may have just found the perfect venue for an upcoming celebration!
This is by far my favorite place in Nevada City!! The food is amazing, the events and live music are so much fun and the vibe is always the best.

The reatraunt is spread over several sections of a beautifully restored building. The food is farm to fresh and the cocktails are great. Worth the road trip!

Our favorite restaurant in the Nevada City/ Grass valley area. Quality of food is excellent. The service is friendly and personal. The suffer club with the wine and food pairing is a blast. A real gem in this area.
We really look forward to the second Sunday of the month's SupperClub at the Stonehouse in Nevada City. Chef Garret never disappoints! His 5 course menu is always creative, a delicious blend of flavors, and beautifully presented. We enjoy inviting friends to dine with us to share in this culinary experience. The staff is professional and friendly.
Walked in 10 minutes early and was immediately seated at a cozy table near a window. The ambience was fantastic, except for the loud table of people near us who had been drinking too much. Honestly, the food was great. The service was great, but the noise got irritating. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special night out.
I went to Stone House with two girlfriends for ladies night. It was a wonderful experience. The food was great. The service was excellent...We even got a visit from the owner to our table. He shared with us his vision for having as many locally sourced meats and vegetables on the menu as possible. We were seated in the restaurant, in a room with a beautiful fireplace. It was lovely. If you were looking for a great place for date night or just want to treat yourself, I highly recommend the Stone House.
