It tastes average. Please do not order extra spicy. (大辣) Not only is it spicier than you can imagine, it's just spicy flavor, there is no savory. But 碗杂面 is good, better than 重庆小面。

One of the best noodle spots in the east bay. Friendly and fast service and willing to accommodate preferences even of its not on the menu. Noodles are fresh and delicious and they offer varying levels of spice. Will definitely be back to try more dishes!

I found this restaurant by accident. Got the noodles with beef. The ladies were very nice and pleasant. Service was quick and food hot. Just a word to the wise. If you're American born and raised, get the medium because it sure is spicy. I love going to authentic restaurants.

Gas noodles would come again waiter really nice. I got the flour noodles and they have the right amount of texture.

* love the flavor and the noodle's texture, it's all well balance and flavorful. I ordered spicy, and it totally hit the spot and got me fixed * nice service, clean and family friendly

Tried this place out for a Friday evening dinner and got their pea ground pork noodles with soup at mild spicy level. The food was decent and a good portion size. I would recommend getting mild spice level as this was a good level, moving up and you might have difficulty eating unless you have a high spice tolerance. Service was attentive and food came out quickly. There is enough seating and no wait time to be seated. Ambiance was ok. Plenty of parking in the plaza.

This place is a good spot for spicy noodles. Chewy? Check. Spicy? YEP. Tasty? Yep. Only complaint I have is that their dishes could get a bit on the oilier side, so might be hard on some stomachs. I had ordered their Chong Qing noodles with ground pork, medium spicy. Medium was legit medium, like as if I was in Asia, which could be why my stomach wasn't liking it shortly after the meal. But don't dare changing that scale, because I'm loving this place for it! The portion sizes were on the larger end, great to share, but nobody wants to share the same spice level with me, and leftover noodles don't fare too well. I tried their mixed veggie appetizer, which was just bean curd, peppers, cilantro. Not bad but also doesn't stand out, I just needed some veggies to balance my meal. I came here on a weekend for lunch, they had just opened, so zero wait. The store is in the Newark Lions plaza, but at the end where it's located by non-Chinese food spots. Pretty attentive service, low key surprised when the food is actually good and the prices are normal. Kinda want another bowl now that I have to write about it. My only wish is that it's located closer to me, especially for wintery days.

First time here on a rainy day. We liked the rice noodles and they were very generous with the portion.

I got takeout and loved the cute way they packages the noodle soups where they have a top section with the noodles and bottom with the soup and you just mix it in the bowl. I really liked the cucumber dish. The dry style chongqing noodles were okay for me. The noodle soup with pork intestine, pork hock etc was pretty good. The service was nice and polite ~

Been meaning to try this place for a while! We came on a Thursday evening and were able to get seated right away. I got one of their signatures noodles, the Pea Ground Pork Noodles. They are very generous with the amount of noodles in each dish (love that for them), and even though I ordered it not spicy, it had a tinge of mala, which I actually quite liked. I wasn't a huge fan of the chickpeas though. Service here was also great! Our waiter was very nice and accommodating and he even asked if we had any feedback at the end of our meal.
