Great Mexican food. I got the chile relleno burrito with brisket barbacoa and the birria. The burrito was very flavorful and loaded to the gills. However I couldn't really taste the meat in it. The birria was outstanding, consomme was so flavorful I ended up dipping my burrito in it. Would come back and try a different meat in the burrito

Finally had a chance to try them out, and everything was amazing, even the beans and rice, which are usually just also-ran sides. The barbacoa brisket tacos were incredible, and the salsa served with the chips was revelatory. I can't wait until I have the chance to go back!

Alhamdulillah halal Mexican food is hard to find. Barbacoa was excellent. Street tacos were okay. Spanish rice was mushy. Salsa had no kick to it. Extremely loud Spanish pop music playing - not really our thing. Difficult to hear the waitresses, or even talk amongst ourselves.

The best halal Mexican food in America and I stand on that. Their tacos were all amazing. I tried the carne asada, barbacoa and pollo al pastor and you can’t go wrong with either so should def try them all. Finally a halal Mexican spot that’s actually authentic. I wish I saw the Costillas earlier on the menu becuase I’d def want to try that. Service is good and very quick, highly recommend.

I always have a experience at El Halal Amigos. It’s a fantastic spot if you’re looking for bold flavors and a clean, welcoming environment.
The standout of the meal for me is the Chile Relleno Burrito with Carne Asada. It was packed with flavor and incredibly filling—easily one of the highlights of the menu. I have also tried the NAR-chos, which were super delicious and a great twist on traditional nachos.
When your food arrives, they usually bring out a green and a red sauce. Both have a serious kick, but they are super yummy and add a great layer of heat to the dishes.
The meals start off with a complimentary chips and salsa, which are a bit untraditional. The chips are a little too greasy and salty and I found the salsa a tad too spicy while lacking a bit of depth in flavor. However, the quality of the main entrees more than make up for it.
The service here is relatively fast for how busy it is, and the entire restaurant is kept notably clean. A really nice touch is their complimentary water scented with orange, lemon, or lime—it’s a refreshing way to balance out the spice of the meal.

Whenever I am in San Jose I always make it a point to go to El Halal Amigos. (Órale Habibi!) I get the chile relleno burrito with carne asada. The meat is juicy, the salsas amazing, truly a gem. If you can, get street parking or park in the parking garage.

They use generic pictures on doordash so you never really know what you are getting. I ordered tacos with a picture of fried shells and received crappy soft tacos with just tortilla and meat. Overall the food wasn’t even good.
