I ordered podi dosa and the podi is not good. I also ordered vada, which is a bit ok. Chatni is okay and not excellent.

Small restaurant inside a market. Order at the counter. Great spot if you're craving dosa. For drinks the mango lasso and fresh sugar came juice are a must!

The food was good, I ordered Podi Masala dosa and it was perfect, the spice level and content and reasonably priced. The Sweet Lassi reminded me of Mumbai. With all those things, the ambiance is bit boring with no windows and you can see grocery stuff from the dining table, constantly reminding you to shop instead of enjoying the meal.

Honestly I was about to walk out and never return when I got my food. The space doesn't have much charm and I waited 10-15 min for my dosa when I was the only customer there. Luckily, the spring dosa was excellent. It was large and filled with veggies without being greasy. The vada was also large and soft. Yummy food makes up for the lack of ambiance.

Had been with a colleague for lunch. I had got unlimited lunch thali. But was surprised to see the quantity of sambar and vegetables served, it was in tiny cups which can hardly hold 2 heaped tablespoons. Surprisingly no one showed up to check on refills and when we requested the manager was called into and still he has asks what do you want for refill, so embrassing experience. Later even asking for extra buttermilk none showed up or updated. Quality of lunch thali was not up to standard, oeverall a pathetic first experience. Dont recommend for lunch thalis defintely.

I absolutely loved it! We tried the Mysore Masala and Tomato Masala Dosas, and both were fantastic, but the Tomato Masala Dosa was especially outstanding. The sambhar and chutneys were delicious as well. They even made the dosas with less oil at our request, which I really appreciated. After trying many places in the area, this is definitely going to be my new go-to spot!

Restaurantji Recommends
Came here thinking it will give same Sunnyvale taste. Ordered masala dosa and kara masala dosa. First of all food was cold. Their sambar felt like old and not fresh. Didn’t even dare to eat it. Definitely won’t recommend this place.

THIS IS THE BEST Tamil “tiffen” restaurant i’ve had outside Chennai. Its truly a hidden gem in Fremont. The staff have a lot of heart and it shows in the quality of the food.
Everything was excellent - dosas, idly, parotta, Chapati, chutneys, etc. They also have veg biryani and chaat on the weekends - which are also a big hit.
The best part is- the food feels very healthy and not too oily at all. Even the poori didn’t feel as oily.
The menu is also very affordable given bay area cost of living.

I'm a big fan of Madras Cafe. I used to go to Sunnyvale branch while I was living in West Bay. After I moved to east bay , I tried this place since it's the same brand. Loved the Ghee masala Dose and south Indian dishes. Exactly same quality and taste. I don't have to drive all the way from now on. Definitely recommend it.
