Best vada pav and ragada pattice in the area. Very authentic taste and great value for the price.

Bought some paneer tikka from here and the excessive use of food coloring was appalling to see. The red color did not leave my finger tips for a whole day. Tasty food but very poor quality

I love the thali at dinner time. It's filling and a very good price at $22 if paying by cash. The 2 ladies at the front are friendly, quick, and nice too.

Walking in, I loved the energetic, street‑food–style decor—it feels like a busy chowk in Mumbai itself. The staff were warm and enthusiastic, and I got chatting with the owner about the menu, which adds a personal, passionate touch that’s rare these days.
I tried a mix of dishes: balti paneer (perfectly spiced and creamy), garlic naan that was just the right balance of soft and toasted—all solid choices.
Portions are generous, prices are reasonable for the level of quality, and the casual counter-serve setup keeps things relaxed.
Overall, Mumbai Chowk nails the authentic Mumbai street‑food experience in Newark. Great food, friendly vibes, and a real sense of care in every dish—they’ve earned a returning customer with me.

Overrated! Expensive, not good vegetarian food.
Nice place and food quality is excellent.
We’ve been loyal customers of Mumbai Chowk for the past five years, and it remains one of the few restaurants that has never let us down. The food is consistently outstanding—rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly crafted with care. What truly sets this place apart is Abdul, the owner, whose passion for food and genuine dedication to his guests shines through in every dish.
The Balti Paneer is a personal favorite—perfectly spiced, incredibly satisfying, and always cooked to perfection.
Mumbai Chowk is a rare gem. Whether you’re a longtime lover of Indian cuisine or new to it, this is a spot you absolutely must try. Highly, highly recommended.
Ordered the paneer tikka combo. Comes with naan, daal, rice and sweet. Found it to be reasonably priced and good in taste.

Best value for money lunch place. Try their thalis and misal pao. Among the few places who have done justice to maharashtrian cuisine
We ordered chaat and dabeli. There was human hair in Dabeli. I reported it to the manager/owner, hopefully they take better care of the hygiene going forward.
THE best Indian food in the bay area.
