Had a problem with my order from the bakery. Called then spoke with the manager regarding the issue and got it resolved. Awesome staff.

Horrible customer service!!! Today is the 5th, 6th, 7th, or even more times I have receive bad service from this Safeway branch in roughly 2+ years. Especially the meat department. SO RUDE!!! I shop at this location along with the other 2 closest locations to me. The others are the one on Decoto Road in Union City and the one on Mowry Ave in Fremont. This one is by far the worst in terms of customer service. They didn't have the particular size of milk I was looking to buy. I waited around until I found a Safeway employee, but he was filling orders. I asked him if he could go and ask for a person in the dairy department as I had a specific question. I know it's not his section so I didn't try and ask if he could take a look for what I was looking for. He took a quick glance through the milk cabinet doors (with all the milk impeding his sight) into the back and could not see anyone there and stated that. I then asked if he could just go in the back real quick to see for sure (about 15-20 feet to the open door to the back) if there was a dairy employee and he basically said he looked through the glass case, didn't see anybody, and can't be bothered. I went all the way to the front of the store to the customer service desk where it is actually their job to assist with questions. Nobody manning the desk (it was early) and waited around as multiple Safeway employees just walked by me back and forth including the person responsible for the customer service desk. Finally asked a check out rep. for a customer service employee and they pointed to one of the employees that walked by me back and forth. Customer service rep. did call back for a dairy rep to come out, but not before giving the kind of look that they can't be bothered with doing their job. If you have any need for customer service good luck at this location. I really don't ever want to go back to this location ever or even Safeway in general, but this place is so close to me.

Not my photo but I had my own experience with this employee. I understand they're going by policy & need manager power for approval, but there's a better way to deliver your words without sounding like you're having a bad day. It sucks that this is my regular Safeway and it makes me not want to come here any more because of the energy she gives off. She even asked me to put the basket down off the belt rudely. I didn't even do anything but just get in line. There wasn't even a sign to put the basket down to unload.I've worked in customer service myself and sometimes you gotta fake a smile. Someone else might be having a bad day as well. Be kind.UPDATE: I learned through previous reviews that this person name is Elizabeth. This needs to be resolved as this is a trending issue at this location. PLEASE RESOLVE.

The lady always manning the register with her stringy grey, black hair with glasses and thick head band. she is DISRESPECTFUL in to customers that clearly have mental health issues, she never smiles, and every time I go in there always has to have a problem with me like I haven't been there being respectful every weekend. my mother in law says she goes in and is also treated the same way so I know it's not just me.

This is Safeway at the Hub. Friday sushi's are now $6 but the California roll use to be all imitation crab slivers before now just few strands with diced cucumbers. Getting skimpy quality has gone down...Purchase must be made at deli not self checkout or clerks at register. But everyone was busy dishing out chicken waiting on long line of customers. Not worth the wait to be rung up!!!

The bakery made a delicious chocolate with fresh strawberries and whip for a birthday! We were so happy as the bakery at the Union City Safeway has went downhill.

I have seen many complaints about Elizabeth, some with pictures and others without. This Safeway is my local grocery store. I don't appreciate being treated poorly here after dropping over 200 bucks. Elizabeth has horrible customer service. I don't understand how she still works here. Her attitude was demeaning and downright racist. If i have a good experience I will talk about it, and if i have a bad one, I usually stay silent. But tonight I was compelled to complaint.

I have not been to Safeway in several months and boy has this store gone downhill? I needed some flowers I picked out a bouquet and waited and waited for someone to help me I pushed the button 5 times no response? Nobody in the store everyone hiding and not willing to be bothered No SHOPPING CARTS ever you have to hunt the parking lot to find a cart

I would stay away from the fresh baked breads especially the Focaccia and Olive Bread. The bread I purchased had wet mold on it, and they past it along as new bread with new date that wasn't expired yet. They tried to rebag old bread with new date tagged on it. Stay away from the deli case, I order from it and it was old and the meat deli they will give you old sitting deli and past along as new deli. The cakes especially the sliced cakes been sitting out there for weeks just they pass along as new and change the dates. Stay away from those individual cakes. Someone needs the health inspector to check on that Safeway's Deli & Bakery Dept. I'd give it an F.

I will give a negative one star if I could. Elizabeth is the rudest cashier I have ever experienced. Customer service is terrible!

Elizabeth is the RUDEST cashier I have ever experienced. She yelled at another customer right in front of us. She yelled loud enough for every customer in the store to look back. The guy was just asking for a bag and she screamed that he had to pay instead of politely saying he would have to pay ten cents. She also picked her long nails while checking us out which is unsanitary. She rudely told my fiancée to put the basket back. It's insane that she still has a job when she treats customers like this. I never want to leave a bad review but I am shocked by how rude she was. After looking at other Yelp reviews, I'm not the only one with a bad experience.

I never write reviews, but Elizabeth... man she was something else. This old cranky lady is the definition of a Karen. She was extremely rude and unpleasant to me despite providing her with my ID. She asked for the ID of my boyfriend, which he didn't have one him, even though I was the one buying the alcohol. She was not even polite about it she just stared at us with her ugly long nails. Even the employee helping her bag was uncomfortable. God bless the people she works with. She needs to get fired ASAP. I get not liking your job, but you're willingly there, at least make the store look good and fake some good customer services.

I have not always had the best experiences at this Safeway store but I can say that every time Kristine helps me I am reminded of why I shop here. Kristine is such an asset to this company! She is always friendly goes above and beyond for the customers. I have had her help me with several different issues in the past and she always finds a way to resolve them and has me leaving the store happy! This woman deserves a raise and should be training other employees to follow in her footsteps. Thank you Kristine for being the reason I come back here to shop. You are wonderful!
