Street Dog is what I got. Casual fast dining. Let's just say not a first date!! So messy I just held the dog and took the hit for me and my wife. 20 napkins later we got it done. A lobster roll not a traditional bun. Service was a little slow but they were friendly.

This place was so yummy we decided to stop by again for a second visit on the way to the airport. (We were staying in Anaheim) so it was that good. We were unable to use the online ordering system (glitch with it) or call ahead to order for pickup (no answer, makes sense it's more of an order in person type of place anyways) and the second visit they only had two people working and seemed understaffed, and longer wait times (was fine with me). Definitely recommend checking your order before leaving for pick up orders because they did get one of our sides wrong.. they have great food though and much better than the corn dogs next door. They didn't have an option to add extra meat to the Mac and cheese meal without it costing $6 dollars (and the meal is $10) so I wasn't going to pay $6 for extra meat. Maybe they can add this option.

Would give zero stars if I could due to the horrible lack of customer service. First off when I called I was immediately put on hold for almost ten minutes, which don't get me wrong I totally understand, I work in food service as well and understand that it can be super super busy. When I was finally able to order I tried ordering the Bourbon Sandwich but was unaware that there were two different ones because i was sent everyone's order through text since it was going to be a large order for my family. I simply asked him what the difference was between the two and look, im not sure if he's under stress because it's busy or just having a bad day. But whoever the man was, he snapped and said that he can't explain the difference to me because i should already know what I want when ordering. Again...I get how frustrating it is to have to answer questions when it's busy but it was simple question that could have been answered in less than 15 seconds. Because of how quick he was to be rude and snap I just ended up hanging up and placing an order at another BBQ spot instead. Not sure about the food quality at Balboa BBQ but I would run the other direction unless you want to be treated rudely. For corporate: this was on 7/30/2023 and the call was placed at 12:42pm.

My boyfriend and I were just out cruising around California cause we always like to go drive around and look at new things. It was time for lunch and we were hungry and we saw this barbecue fries it was absolutely amazing is all I can say! The view was great if you wanted to eat outside the atmosphere and the customer service was absolutely wonderful.

After driving 2 hours, paying $30 for parking I was at least expecting good food. Foe one they did not have any ribs and said we had to wait an hour and a half for some. So we got the brisket. They put a lot of sauce however the meat itself was not tender and juicer at all. I will never go here again.

Got the Piggy Mac, the pulled pork was great 9/10, and the sauce was good, but the Mac wasn’t cheesy and they needed to either add more cheese or more pork to fix that. I’d eat here again though.

One of my favorite go-to BBQ places. There's something there for everyone and is a great lunch spot if you're in the area. I usually order the Original Pulled Pork Sandwich and/or Texas fries (HIGHLY recommend).

Came across this while strolling...kid ordered the Piggy Mac n cheese...wow...really good and enough food for a teenager...had the tacos....mmmm tasty
One of the best Burgers I've ever had! Ordered the Barbecue Burger that was perfectly cooked with a nice thick patty, plenty of bacon and their sauce was delicious. The fries were crisp and coated with a bit of season salt. Very nice! Definitely will come back to try other things and/or another BBQ Burger.

This was some of the best bbq I've had! So fresh and tasty!And the staff is so nice and friendly. They even replaced my daughters burger after she dropped it.Will definitely be coming back and recommending to all my friends.

Came to this place right after doing a whale watching excursion. We were the first ones through the door that morning and the customer service was great. He recommended the Texas fries and southern salad which both were amazing!! The fries is a good portion to share as an appetizer or for a person alone to eat. The salad was delicious and paired perfectly with the Texas fries. The kids loved the nuggets, Mac n cheese and fries. Had some bbq from the condiments table didn't care for the Carolina red sauce. The bbq was very sweet and just slightly tangy. We sat outside since it was a nice sunny day it was quiet and had lots of room for the kids to run around.

Came straight to this place around 7 pm on a Saturday after whale watching nearby and it hit the spot! Considering they were closing at 8 pm, the workers were still really nice and provided excellent service. Food came out fast and was very tasty. My husband got brisket fries and I got chili cheese fries, spent about $30 total. I thought the fries were a little too salty for me, but not too much to the point I couldn't eat it. It still tasted really good regardless! It's a nice area with lots of outdoor and indoor seating. Right in the middle of the Fun Zone with lots of activities for kids and families nearby. Parking can be a little tough to find on busy days, but wasn't expensive at all.

We always go to Balboa BBQ after whale watching. The sandwiches and burgers are so good! Anything with the pulled pork is excellent. And the fries are double fried delicious. Pricy for a burger but so worth it.
