My group and I came in to order soup and waited 20 minutes, which was fine since it was busy. However, our experience quickly went downhill due to the rudeness of the staff, particularly a girl in a green Halloween costume. I ordered two 32 oz soups but received two 12 oz containers instead. When I mentioned the mistake, she dismissed me and offered another 12 oz container, saying, "is this okay?" I explained that three 12 oz containers don’t equal 64 oz, and she sighed, acting like we were the problem. It’s frustrating to want what we paid for and be treated poorly. If this is how the staff operates, I can only imagine the kitchen standards. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place to others.
Nice view but the service is terrible. Sushi is pre packaged

worst restaurant experience I've ever had. we waited 40 minutes for our food, they gave us less than half of an actual meal each, and I had to ask legitimately 5 times to get our salad dressing. I had to ask them twice to bring us our food and they just never said anything, I told them they gave me a small instead of a large seafood plate and they just completely ignored me.
after asking for our salad dressing (its supposed to come with what we ordered) for literally the fourth time, server comes up to me and says "what did you want again?" after we had already finished our meal.
we left hungry because we paid for large seafood plates and they gave us basically kid sized meals, staff is rude and incompetent. the other location is miles ahead of this one and I will never return to this location, issued a chargeback to get my money back because they never gave me what i ordered and refused to even acknowledge it.

"Chain" flavor. But reasonable price at the expensive community.

This place could be good if people kept their dogs home or if the owners made guests adhere to proper dog behavior. For example, one guest took up three seats, one for her and two for her dogs. This happened while humans had to stand and while the bartender watched her dogs in the seats so she could go to the restroom. Other dogs blocked the crowded aisles, while the dogs in strollers kept barking. So if you have an unruly pet, perhaps this is the place for you.

If you're the type of person that appreciates the taste and quality of the fish rather than masking the flavor with a bunch of toppings, this is a great place. Great poke sold by the pound for a decent price, but they don't have a ton of variety like other places often do (a positive in my option).
God the poke is pure salt. I eat poke all the time and have never had something so salty before. Not edible. Maybe they screwed up today’s batch.
Really cool place otherwise, though the food is far too expensive for what you get.

What kind of place makes patrons at a table, order sushi at the bar (even though is on the menu). This is HORRIBLE customer service.

The vibe post remodel is great but the service seriously sucks. Some menu items can only be ordered at the bar - but it doesn’t say that on the menu so after waiting in line and deciding on my meal I learned I couldn’t get it. The girl at the register couldn’t have cared less about how ridiculous and inconvenient that was. Gave up on her and went to the bar to place my order and learned they only allow you to order from the bar if you are sitting at the bar. Also ridiculous, given I was ordering sushi, not a drink. Finally convince them to let me do a “to go” order from the bar, place it and pay. Five minutes later the bar tender tells me he forgot the sushi chef went on break (at 5:15 pm with a packed restaurant) and that he would not be back for at least 15 minutes. I really want to like this place, but man did the policies and utter lack of customer service disappoint.
Dietary restrictions: They definitely do not understand dietary restrictions of pregnant people and really had no empathy when I was simply asking questions about how certain items were prepared
Parking: It’s in the crystal cove shopping center so ample parking, but can get packed.

After a pretty lengthy wait, I had ordered the seafood salad and upgraded to premium seared ahi. 75 % of the ahi was inedible. Tough, veiny, poor quality. Very disappointing. Although the grilled artichoke was good. Very pricey place for counter ordering and cleaning up after yourself.

Been coming here for over 10 years. The ahi poke is delicious and their margaritas are also fantastic. That being said, the service has consistently been cold, slow, and rude. I was told I wasn't allowed to sit at the bar even though I purchased a cocktail. Cleanliness of the dining space and bathrooms could use improvement. It's best to do a phone order and take the food to the beach.

Service was horrible. After waiting for 30min for my food, went up to ask and got a very nonchalant response “almost there”…next time don’t ask for tip upfront if you don’t train your staff to properly address and take care of customers. Ended up being 45min and the corn tortilla somehow smelled like the gym washroom…however the clam chowder (thank god we got this in the beginning) and the white fish was actually quite good…this place just has a very chill vibe, just doesn’t seem to be a very professional establishment.

We usually end up with the question; ”Would we go back?” So, let’s start with that quickly. YES
We stopped for drinks and lunch on the PCH on Saturday at the Crystal Cove Shopping Center and saw Bear Flag Fish Company. So, since none of that made sense, we checked it out. Sat at the bar with Chris the bartender. Chris made us some of their specialty drinks and we ordered Sushi Rolls. Everything was excellently prepared. If fact, so good we did it again.
What made this five star was great food and knock-your-socks-off service. Chris was joined by Matt who had just returned from his honeymoon. Matt also had a great personality and made you feel at home.
Where do you get great sushi, great drinks and outstanding service at a very reasonable price in Newport Beach area. Be sure you pick this one on the PCH.
Thanks to Chris and Matt for a great lunch!!
