New valet under owner takes half the parking. Asked me to go across the street to park even when all valet marked parkings were unoccupied. Threatened to tow my car for 10 bucks. Manager was super rude and escalated the issue further. Took is 3 hours to get out. Waited for 45 mins for the chef, chef got the order wrong, then waited another eternity to get food. We go there 4-5 times a year. Apparently they have new ownership who has no idea how to run the place. Even the servers were complaining. No more!

We had a reservation for 5:45 PM, yet we were made to wait over 20 minutes past our scheduled time to be seated. When we politely asked about the delay, the staff responded with an attitude rather than offering an apology or explanation.

It was clear that tables were being double-booked, which resulted in guests with reservations being forced to wait. That completely defeats the purpose of making a reservation in the first place.

This experience was frustrating and unprofessional. If you’re going to offer reservations, they should actually mean something. Unfortunately, this was unacceptable and left a very negative impression.

We had a reservation for 6:15 and didn't get seated until 7. It took another 30 minutes for our table to get ordered and a chef to come out. The chef and food were good. They missed an item from our order but they took it off the bill at least. Very packed. Not a great experience.

Started bad by only parking was $10. Drinks were $20 Dinner was good not great and the show just wasn't what it used to be. Was one of our favorites but has really declined

Poor service. They extremely behind on reservations. We checked in around 6:30 for our reservation at 7:30 knowing it would be busy and the front of house staff told us they were still seating people from 5pm… absolutely ridiculous, what is the point of a reservation if you don’t even have that time reserved. Be better.

We had lunch this morning and had a horrible experience. The 2nd party that sat at our table were extremely rude and no one said anything. They kept on talking about politics and comments about Mexico and how terrible it is while one of our servers was Mexican and even during one of our interactions they said “everyone needs to speak English”. It really ruined the atmosphere and it sucks since we are paying over $200 for a nice experience and yet this was our daughter’s first time and it made our family very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. I am surprised no once came to say anything since they were so loud the entire time.

Can’t rate the food, didn’t get to eat the food. Rude hostess and extremely poor and unprofessional management. Don’t bother with a reservation it doesn’t matter.

Great for the kids but the food is lacks taste and the adult menu is way overpriced. Great service but really disappointed in all food choices. Kids did love it and surprising to me it was packed with families

Extremely disappointing experience. We went to this Benihana’s in Newport with my family to celebrate my son’s birthday, and it was a huge letdown from start to finish. The food was mediocre at best and absolutely not worth the inflated prices.

We told the staff **twice** that it was my son’s birthday. While they did eventually bring out a small ice cream with candles, no one came to sing or acknowledge him in any meaningful way. It felt rushed, impersonal, and careless—especially for a place that markets itself as a “celebration” restaurant.

This location has been getting worse every year. We used to come here often and always enjoyed it, but the decline in food quality, service, and overall experience is impossible to ignore now.

Very disappointed, and we will never be coming back again.
