I called to see if they were open because I didn't see any reviews and I didn't want to go for no reason, they said the were so I drove over. I walked in the door and everyone just looked at me like I didn't belong so I went down to the restaurant below to ask if I was at the right spot and they said yes, up stairs. I asked if there was a private party going on and they said no, so I went back up and began to sit at the bar and was told it was a private party. Recognizing his voice (and the background noise) from when I called earlier, I told him I called and no one said anything about a private party but he insisted he didn't know who I spoke to and told me they should have room for me downstairs. And this is why I rarely go to Newport Beach or anywhere in "the OC!"

Cute restaurant. Amazing service. Order the Sangria! Delish! The meatballs in gravy are to die for! The pasta portions are huge; enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Husband had the swordfish and it was a very large size as well. Free dessert for his birthday. Great patio area. The owner is super sweet. Overall, highly recommend and hope to go back with friends soon!

Would have preferred something other than plain white rice as a side but the Mahi Mahi was amazing.

Small and friendly with great food and personalized service in a lively part of town near the pier. Ahi tuna chowder is amazing and generous portion. Swordfish and Ahi Tuna entries excellent. Highly recommended.

This place is totally unimpressive from the outside. However, the food is quite good. We split three small plates and a salad. All were excellent. Service was very good as well. About 75% occupancy on a Thu at 7PM. Not a lot of seating. In this area of touristy/flashy restaurants, it would be easy to overlook. However, the smaller dining area actually made it quieter. And, if you want something more lively after eating, there's a trendy bar right next door.

We love the Sol Grill! It is a bit small and I would always make reservations but the food is great. Hubby loves the sauted mushrooms, with lots of garlic. The fish is always excellent but everything is great!!

I'm so grateful to have found this gem! Misty and team make you feel as if your part of the family. Small, cozy, absolutely delicious, with terrific service! I'm so glad to be a distant "regular"!

The food is top notch but unfortunately the noise from the bar next door dampened the overall experience. Small restuarant so you must make reservation. If you dont mind ALOT of noise this is the place for you.

Always make it a point to visit this whoever in the s cal area. Food is really fresh and well prepared. Ambiance and service are both lovely. It's clearly well loved by locals.

This precious artistic culinary find will not disappoint. Food is consistently great! Try the filet mignon meatballs....amazing! The owner, Misty, is down to earth, friendly and makes you feel at home. Love this place!
