Great chicken place, simple menu, and good options. Ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with onion rings, and best of all, I had the choice of light or dark meat. The spice level of the chicken was medium hot, I wanted to enjoy the sandwich before I try something too hot. They do offer three levels of heat. The slaw with sliced pickles on top of the chicken were just right, a little creamy. The onion rings were perfect, light breading, and not greasy. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Nice and clean inside and they have two small tables with chairs out front. Be aware, this is not fast food, this will take a little time but worth it.

I was excited to try this place but went at 3 pm on a Tuesday and they were closed. No sign, nothing on website, voicemail, or social media. Disappointing for a business to operate with no communication to their patrons.

Woah. The chicken melts in your mouth! Randomly stopped in. Loved the chicken sandwich and popcorn chicken. Waffles fries too! Everything freshly made. Non spicy and spicy options. Took about 10 minutes to prepare food. Well worth the wait. Chicken is crispy and moist on the inside. Located on Newport Blvd. Came 6pm on a Thursday and there was parking in the adjacent lot. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

I came to Chicken Bun Bun after seeing it in a video on social media. I then realized there are multiple other locations closer to where I live The location was pretty small, but I came in the middle of the day and they weren't busy. We ordered and I could tell everything was made fresh, on the spot. We waited maybe about 10 minutes to get our food.I really liked that these chicken sandwiches weren't overly seasoned or salty, but still had flavor. They were delicious and really fresh and crispy. I don't think the fries really stood out to me. However, I would say this chicken sandwich was one of the better ones I've had. There were probably around 6 to 8 tables in the store, but it doesn't seem like that much of a sit down and eat place. Overall my experience was pretty good, and I'd come back if I'm in OC and need to satisfy a craving

Ordered the spicy chicken sandwich mild with extra slawGot my picky grandson the original chicken sandwich no slaw Chicken wings.French fries After two bites of my spicy chicken sandwich that I thought was the best I've had , my family got a hold of it and within five minutes everything was gone. The french fries were very flavorful, but a tad soggy , but still delicious. My spicy sandwich was awesome. My picky grandson ate his chicken sandwich and enjoyed it .The wings have a great crunch, and it seemed they were brined with some kind of a spicy liquid.I couldn't stop eating them until they were gone .The only thing that threw me was the brine they use leaves the chicken a little pinkish, but seemed cooked thoroughly. I could imagine some people would think it wasn't cooked all the way.My daughter, who tried the sandwich and lives next door, went home and ordered it for her family .I will be hitting this place up on the regular .

( wife posting) Chicken bun bun was chicken yuck yuck. My husband and I were on vacation and decided to give this place a try. We were so disappointed. The chicken wings were soggy and soaked in grease. The waffle fries lacked flavor, so did the wings. If you are looking for quality, I recommend Dave's Hot Chicken instead.

me and my friend went for lunch thinking it would be good because of all the hype and found out it is not. It is expensive for one sandwich it was around 12 bucks. They got my order wrong I got fries and they didn’t gave me them till i told them about it and you have to pay extra for sauce which is really d*** after paying 12 bucks for a sandwich. The workers also barely understand english. It is overall not worth it if you want to fried chicken sandwich go to dave’s hot chicken it is better in every category.

Our chicken sandwiches were made fresh, literally saw the worker placing the chicken in the batter. Good flavor.
