Coliseum Pool & Grill is a rare gem in the world of high-end hotel dining! I usually can’t stand upscale spots because the food is often bland and overpriced, but this place completely blew me away. The menu may not be extensive, but the quality is outstanding—definitely a "quality over quantity" kind of spot. I ordered the pokey, and we shared a variety of appetizers, and let me tell you, every single dish was fantastic! The flavors were unique, and nothing felt generic like you’d expect from a hotel restaurant. The service was top-notch too; everyone was so friendly and eager to help, which made the experience even better. And the ambience? Absolutely breathtaking. With views like this, you’ll want to soak in every moment. If I were local, I’d probably have breakfast, lunch, and dinner here every day. Five stars, without a doubt!

Always love this Restaurant! Heaters overhead allow you to sit outside, when it is cool, beautiful view of ocean and pool! Our waiter Edward, ( Jesus) was wonderful getting our order perfect!

Yes it is expensive, but the quality definitely fits the environment so to speak.

I truly cannot say how great the experience here was for my family and me. The pool is beautiful, as well as the view. The food, drinks and staff are as good as it gets. My experience was with Luis, Jose, and Christian, as well as others whose names I’ve forgotten and they’ll make your day. My advice would be to spend a good afternoon and relax in and around the pool, because it will be the best part of your getaway.

Parking: Easy, quick, and friendly service.

Kid-friendliness: The staff was accommodating to the kids and made the adults’ afternoon even more enjoyable.

Beautiful view, that's it. I have been consistently at the resort for the past 4 years and each experience at this restaurant slips further and further down and the pricing gets more and more expensive. Yesterday took the cake. 2 drinks, a salad, a chicken sandwich and a poke bowl was just at $200. I had to search for beets in my salad, it was all greens. No bread for the table which I found crazy for the price point. I left hungry and cooked something up afterwards. It's a lovely ambience but this is all this place has to offer. They used to have a great mushroom pasta but it was taken off the menu. Food is not worth what they are charging. There are so many better dining options in this area so request a driver to take you off property like Javier's.

The Coliseum Restaurant in Pelican Hill is my absolute favorite lunch spot when I'm visiting Newport. The view of the pool is nothing short of breathtaking, making every meal feel like a special occasion. The food is excellent, and I can't get enough of their Turkey club and homemade chips – they're simply the best! The staff is incredibly friendly and always goes out of their way to make sure you have a fantastic experience. If you're ever in Newport, do yourself a favor and stop by the Coliseum Restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

Thank you Ryley & Jess for a wonderful dining experience. Service was absolutely spectacular and they checked in on our table frequently. I will continue to request them for future reservations.

Dined inside on non bar side and had terrible service, sat for almost 15 min before manager brought water and asked for drink orders — but he seemed disinterested. He ended up taking lunch orders. Never met our actual server until we asked for her to order dessert. Food was solid but overpriced. Hope Marriott can whip them into better shape soon, because they need it.

We have been dining at the Coliseum since its beginning. The gnocchi I ordered 2 weeks ago was terrible, much too creamy, little flavor. The bolognese I and two others ordered yesterday was also terrible, the meat tasted of poor quality, and the bolognese left a bad taste in our mouths. The server who brought our dishes spilled olive oil on our octopus appetizer.

I have been coming here for years and brought my niece for a special graduation from nursing school. The food was overcooked, cold and salty. Not sure what happened in the kitchen yesterday, but it surely was a huge bummer to have chosen this spot , for a special celebration that went south. All of the food was cold, including the appetizer pizza which was horrible. The salmon was overcooked... It's like they reheated it on a plate and gave it to us.
