Good home felt Italian restaurant, easy access from fashion island. I quite like the atmosphere. There is also a cute little shop in front.

If you crave Italian while shopping at Fashion Island, may I nominate this Italian cuisine. It’s a modern setting with a great ambiance. We were a large party. We decided to share a few whole pizzas and salads while enjoying some drinks.
I will definitely return!

Cucina Newport Beach was a great experience! The food was wonderful, our server was so friendly & attentive, & two especially nice touches...a Happy Anniversary card on our table and the Make A Wish list on the wall in the lady's room. We give it a 10 out of 10!
Start with the fried squash blossoms, Italian chopped salad, pasta dishes are all good as well as the salmon - great selection of wines, etc.
Nice place with excellent service

Restaurantji Recommends
I found the menu limited and pricey but it was at fashion island and it was expected. I had the tagliatelle bolognese and my fiancé had the mushroom pizza. The pizza was large but had little if any cheese and my dinner was small and needed more sauce. Our friends had vegetarian plate and the Steele head salmon which he enjoyed. When we arrived home, I made popcorn because we were both still hungry. I still would recommend it but not be afraid to ask for more sauce up front
We had a reservation for this restaurant the night before my husband ran the full OC marathon. It was highly recommended to us by our Airbnb host. When the hostess was seating us, she took us to a table inside. I let her know our reservation was for the patio. She said this was our table, so I repeated that I made a reso specifically for the patio. I was taken aback a how rudely she replied “yes I heard you but there is no patio seating” What is the point of allowing a guest to reserve a specific area than completely disregarding it? That interaction killed the vibe immediately, however our actual server was very nice. The pasta dishes were yummy but quite small. We also got the focaccia with house whipped ricotta, and it was delicious but about half the amount of bread needed for the dip, which resulted in us leaving behind a lot. The restaurant is also very loud, and the servers all wear jeans which is a strange choice given the decor is upscale.

Great food
I love both locations and the menu
This time we almost didn’t get any service because of the private party and lack of staff
The server Helly was like I am sorry do you want me to call my manager?
And we were there for pleasure not argument!

Food was exceptional. We had the chicken, octopus, Italian salad, colognes, meatball and arancini.
Lost a star for service. Had a 5.30pm reservation and they said they couldn't seat us for 15mins because of a staff meeting. Heaps of people were waiting for the same reason. Tables were empty. A few hostesses were available but not seating anyone. To then have the same hostesses seat us after the waiting ? Odd.
