2nd time here. We walk by this location a lot since it's got prime real estate on the boardwalk. You order at the counter and then try to find a seat.
It can be a bit challenging on the weekends since it's so popular but you do eventually find a spot.
1st time I had the curry chicken salad which was good. Today I wanted the ahi salad but they were out of ahi. So I asked if they had the poke available & I was in luck. I just subbed lettuce for the rice.
It was really good. I got way too much ginger but that's just me. Everything worked well together and I enjoyed the flavor.
My friend had a burrito the 1st time and said it was good. This time she got the mahi tacos which came with good chips. She said they were good but may try something else next time,

I am local and come here very often, intentionally and not. Sometimes i just walk my dog on broad walk and decide to take a break, if you are lucky you can find a spot to sit. Summer might be tough if you want a front side. But the back side is always available if you dont care about the view. Dogs are welcome front and back. I never have bad experiences once. Bussers, cashiers, bartenders are so nice. The bar can close early sometimes on the slow nights.
For food, i think i have tried 75% of the menu already. My favorite are follows,
Poke bowl : i ask for no rice 5/5 Fritter : 5/5 Dory Wrap : 4/5 (too much dressing IMO) Avo toast : 4/5
Drinks are good here as well.

Food and drinks were good! However, the bartender with red hair (that looks like Noah Cyrus) was really unpleasant. My friend and I noticed that she was genuinely rude and condescending to the girls at the bar, but very friendly to the men. So weird and made us not want to return.

I had a breakfast burrito and a bloody mary here, everything was top notch. Can't beat the view from the window nook, ideal for people watching with headphones on or for socializing; If I'm ever back in NB, I'll definitely hit up this spot again.

Jokes aside, Dory Deli is amazing! Whatever you get, it’s made fresh to order, fairly priced, and served with great customer service. Dine in or take out. This is a great place to enjoy a great meal at the beach!

Sick spot to come grab a coffee at 06:00am and then 3 or 4 cocktails immediately after to start the day off proper. The amount of patrons in here drinking early in the morning is wild and really sets the tone for the entire beach. This is probably your go-to spot to start your day off strong if you’re planning on day drinking. Great vibes with awesome bartenders. Drinks were strong and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
I love this place so much!!! Such a fun beach deli that not only serves lunch and deli foods, but breakfast, yummy coffee, alcoholic drinks and dinner choices. The seating is so nice inside too. You can face the beach or go more in back if it is crowded. There are TVs as well.
The breakfast burrito was delicious as well as the tator tots. I also loved the bagel with all the veggies. Breakfast sandwich was good but my mom doesn't eat eggs so we got one w no eggs & still delish.
Service is fast and friendly. You order and the counter and get a number and pick your seat. There's always people in there, but usually always seating as well. They also do fun seasonal specials. A must when at Newport Beach!
