I live right here as homeless veteran housing and they be over taxing me from what the menu say every time since been coming! Then I ask for food and denied as a customer wants? Bs ass

You walk into Eat Chow and instantly understand something most places have forgotten: comfort isn’t just about food—it’s about feeling seen. The lighting is warm, the air carries the scent of something just fried, just melted, just right. It’s not trying too hard. It doesn’t need to.

The staff? They smile like they’ve known you forever. Attentive, genuine, and somehow always there at the exact right moment—never before, never after. That’s not training. That’s instinct.

Now—the crispy chicken tacos. They don’t whisper. They announce themselves. Crunch that’s heard across the table, heat that lingers just long enough to remind you why spice was invented. It’s not just a taco. It’s a memory waiting to happen.

And the fondue tater tots—what kind of genius thinks of that? Childhood meets indulgence, dipped in a cheese sauce so rich it might ask you for a loan. It’s the kind of dish you don’t tell your cardiologist about, but you’ll thank yourself for ordering.

The BBQ chicken salad? It’s the contradiction we all need. Smoky and sweet, fresh and bold. It’s what happens when restraint meets indulgence in a well-dressed bowl.

Eat Chow doesn’t need gimmicks. It doesn’t chase trends. It just delivers—every damn time. You don’t go there because you’re hungry. You go there because you deserve something better.

And at Eat Chow, better is always on the menu

Looking for a place to eat in the beach. This place is not on the beach but still a great experience. The food was absolutely amazing. Had great taste , was very surprised. EAT Chow is tucked away in the back of a parking lot. We got the Chilaquiles and the brisket tacos. They were soooo good. Definitely if you are in the area a must try. We went in the morning around 9 am there wasn't anyone there. But the waiter did say reservations are needed in the afternoon evening as it gets busy.

We wanted to try something new at Newport and we found this gem. It was amazing. I love a good Reuben and this one was so good. I mean corned beef was so well flavored. We also did the French dip. Aju juice was killer. We will be back for sure.

I've been here once before, and the food was OK. Not too pricey.
Came here a second time. I sat outside for about 10 minutes. No server came or even looked at me as they passed to ask if I had been helped. I got up and stood by the front door. Still, no one asked if I had been helped. I saw plenty of wait staff, and it was not crowded so they weren't short-handed. I won't be back because, they obviously don't need the money.

Edit for the review. I was a little harsh about my first review. I changed the service section from 1 star to 5 stars when the owner responded to my review, and asked me to call him personally. He profusely apologized about his staff not talking to me, and asked me to come by and talk to him in person. His customer service was awesome! I would give this restaurant a chance. Everyone needs a chance to make it right. Very nice owner. I will recommend.

The food was good, you could tell it was made fresh. The service was amazing. I always had people checking on me to make sure that I had enough water and I felt very taken care of. I sat outdoors, and the weather was perfect. Also, the people next to me had a dog, so I assume that pets are allowed outside. I love that about this restaurant.

Love Eat Chow but had never been to the Newport Beach location. We sat on the patio and had a lovely breakfast. The service and food were amazing. I would absolutely love to visit again!

Service is amazing! Guys are so nice, friendly, and efficient! Food is outstanding! But I miss: chimichurri steak with salad, and the dark chocolate mousse from the past, it was my fav dessert!
