The food is my favorite style of Mexicali meets Tex Mex. The Tres Amigos enchiladas cannot be missed and the happy hour margs are strong and delicious. And honestly, the sunset views cannot be missed! For a Thursday night, it was a little slow, lots of open tables. My friends enjoyed the Birria tacos, combo #9 and the tamarind margarita. They serve hot baskets of the most addictive fresh chips and salsa. The happy hour queso was also delish. Run don't Walk to happy hour at GuacAmigos!

We were greeted by a very nice gentleman. He also continued to help out other tables while we were there. The food was excellent. The waiter seemed off. He was nice at times, but also short and somewhat rude at times. We ran out of our beverages and had to get up and go find salsa ourselves twice. Not sure if he was having a bad day or if it is his normal personality. Our last visit was a more positive experience. That is why I chose this restaurant for my birthday meal.

Waiter was always somewhere else after the main course arrived. Getting hot sauce, which was not hot, took forever and ordering dessert was the same. Even the check was slow arriving.

Food was great and hot when it came to the table. The chips were very addicting as they were light and crispy, making me go through a whole basket in minutes! Salsa was also perfect. It was just hot enough without turning into a bathroom break or watered down so you think you're eating tomato sauce. We were very happy with the food. Prices were too high for the Ala carte items, so I do not recommend ordering the food that way. They also included an unknown "service charge" which I thought was just a BS way of raising the bill for no reason. This needs to be stopped.

The location and view of this spot is stunning. Great food as well and the prices of such are actually reasonable, especially for Newport Beach. lol I'm always surprised each time I come in as there isn't that many people there. 10/10 would recommend! Always an enjoyable time :)

We went there for a late lunch on Sunday. Food was very good. I ordered the chicken fajitas. The chicken breast was over-cooked and dry. The waiter was very quick to substitute the Carne asada which was fabulous. My Mom had shrimp fajitas, and my brother had Carne asada tacos. Which they thought were great. My wife had an a la carte chili relleno and tamale, which were very large and filling. Over all very good. Though I skipped on the $900 shot of Patron Lalique! :-D

Staff wasn't the friendliest and when we got home we realized they charged us a 3% service fee and charged us for a meal we didn't order. Our fault for not looking at bill.

Service by Chris was OUTSTANDING! Food was good (ESPECIALLY the beans/rice - VERY different and authentic!). Interior looks dated, but this restaurant has been purchased by SO many different people in the last few years, just disregard the ceiling/walls and just look out at the water view! And, they need to STOP adding red chili pepper to EVERYTHING - including the chips!!! Let the taste of the food show through - the food tastes good without extra spices on it.

One of my worst restaurant experiences was today at this restaurant. I have been to this place at least 10 times before and never need treated the way I was today. I think the manager has no concept of customer service and if he continues, this restaurant will go down. The service of the staff reflects the attitude of the manager. They really didn't care if we got our drinks or food on time or as ordered. When we called the manager to complain, his attitude was that of - I don't really care.

The view is beautiful, we loved being able to watch the boats while we enjoyed lunch. We went around 1:00pm on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded which was awesome. My husband got the fajitas trio and loved it, I snagged one of his shrimp and they were bomb!! I got the surf taco trio, I loved the lobster one, the other too were good too, I just wouldn't do the aioli on them next time, I'm not a mayonnaise person and the texture was too much for me but that's a personal preference. Once I scraped it off it was good. Overall a great experience!

Service was terrible, never saw our server after we gave our order. Some of it came out wrong. No one came back to give us our bill, once I got it I had to go ask a host to run our card. Will not be back.

Have been here twice, and will be back for sure. Food: Excellent. Drinks: Excellent. Ambiance: Wonderful. Service: Not Excellent (twice), bad enough between being inattentive or just AWOL to make Guacamigos a backup choice. That's the wait staff. Other service staff was very helpful.

I brought my cousins visiting from Germany, to GuacAmigo for dinner last night. We had a table with a view of the harbor, many boats passing by. Every bite of our food was fantastic and delicious! Our server Tessa, was extremely friendly, attentive, and prompt. Our entire experience was phenomenal.

Value for the price was not great based on ambience of the property. Great location but interior needs updating and better cleanliness. Feels like an El Torito restaurant at Javier prices.
