I like the outdoor area
Great service and the meal was very good. Had the artichokes which were amazing. Restaurant was packed and loud. Parking was definitely a challenge.
A huge fan of the Hillstone group restaurants (Hillstone Park Ave is my fave restaurant in NYC)! Gulfstream has a good atmosphere, great food and excellent service. I recommend the smoked salmon clam chowder and trout. The rotisserie chicken is a classic fave at any Hillstone restaurant, so you can't go wrong with that either!
Gulfstream is a classic go-to spot in Newport Beach, nice ambiance and definitely one of our favorites. Heads up it gets really busy, so make a reservation ahead of time because this place is packed no matter what time you go. We came by on a Saturday for an early dinner, and it was already buzzing. Even with the chaos, the staff was super attentive and on top of everything. It’s clear why the locals love this place because it always delivers. We kicked things off with our usual: the Smoked Trout Dip. It’s got just the right amount of smokiness and balanced flavor it is such a solid way to start the meal. For my main, I went with the Red Trout and a side of Kale Salad. This combo is always a winner it is light, flavorful, and just consistently 10/10. My boyfriend went with the Dover Sole and also got the Kale Salad on the side. He enjoyed it, but mentioned he still prefers the flavors of the Red Trout overall. The dessert Sundae was a treat! Not on the menu but they do have it available if requested.
Drinks (cocktails and wine) were great too. We always have a good time here, and if you give it a shot, I’m pretty sure you will too.
Can’t say enough good things about this place. Food is amazing, service is A plus waiter Erin was super helpful. Even if you are an hour away or in LA it is worth the drive. Order the biscuits they’re legendary, the ruby salad and end it with their famous sundae.
Update: went back again and it was good as ever, Allie the manager made sure everything was great. We ordered the tuna burger with a kale salad and added heart of palm to it we also had the chicken which was also amazing
We went here for my brother's birthday with a reservation almost two weeks in advance however we were met with a rude hostess who rejected us for having more than 4 people. What kind of restaurant doesn't allow more than 4 people. They were extremely rude with us and didnt accommodate for us or at least offer us two tables. Must be nice to turn down customers. I do not recommend going here at all.

We ate here on the afternoon of November 11th. I specify that because unfortunately I didn’t get the name of the server or the manager who dealt with our 91 year old guest who couldn’t stop complaining about just about everything while I just wanted to crawl into my shell. It was so very embarrassing to me who was treating this guest to lunch. Both the manager and our server went out of their way to try and please him and for that I am grateful. Both the manager and our server deserve ULTIMATE KUDOS!

We always enjoy Gulfstream. Food, service, and ambiance are consistent and high-quality. A little pricy but worth it. Try the biscuits. So yummy! And you can buy them frozen and take em home to cook for your own meal!!!
Kid-friendliness: Not the best place for little ones

This is a wonderfully relaxed restaurant in Newport Beach/Corona del Mar area. We began with a vodka martini and a Gulfstream cocktail (tequila, aperon, lime juice, cucumber and mint); superb. Server was kind enough to even replace the martini glass with a fresh icy one midstream. We continued with a wonderfully creamy smoked trout dip which was very fresh. The New Orleans barbecue shrimp was seasoned to perfection and the ruby red trout was creamy and delicate. We also had the wild rice with champagne vinegarette and almonds (& many other ingredients); definitely a highlight of dinner. Our server; Connor, was kind and attentive without intrusion. A perfect evening we will remember.

This place is a staple in Newport. I recommend it. not everywhere I go gets five stars. That’s the only reason they’re not a five stars. I’m a little picky on who I get five stars too.

Love this place and the only complaint is someone from your staff came outside when we were having cocktails and told us to move our feet off the fire pit when no one was out here and when I asked why, she said because people eat out here! Mind you, no one was out here and we barely had our shoes up on the outside of the fire pit! Lame! Get a clue
