Amazing service and latte. Wish they had a bigger aquarium for the fish. Felt really bad for them...

Came here due to the high reviews but they do not know how make a decent espresso. The breakfast burrito was ok nothing special. It’s in a sort of small group of shops with parking so atmosphere a bit blah. Definitely need to try the other coffee bars in Newport beach before deciding if this is as good as it gets.

It’s Newport beach, so naturally, it’s a little on the pricey side, but not unreasonable. I went straight fatty today and got a medium Americano, a European bagel, and a flourless chocolate cake, which all totaled up to a little over $22 before I tipped. The pickle is huge, so I only had half of that. I did somehow managed to put away every single crumb from that cake, though.? I was a little surprised at how many people were there on a Wednesday morning, but the service was fast. They have a nice outdoor patio dining area, as well as an interesting inside area. We are camping over at Newport Dunes, so this place is just a quick trip from here, but a nice change.

The food is not worth its price. The customer service experience in replacing my Chicken apple Panni was excellent. However, the reason it needs to be replaced is because the chicken and all other meat/cheese is reheated in the microwaves, for the price I expected it would be made fresh and actually grilled as indicated on the menu not reheated. The microwave acts as a dehydrator producing an extremely dry meat that clashes with an other wise good sandwich. Thankfully, their baked goods are much better and avoiding the meat seemed to a solution.Parking: Ease of parking

This place is a hidden gem. Their coffee is excellent. The roasted veggie panini is my favorite and I’m not a vegetarian. The almond croissants are giant and delicious! I’m a baker and I can tell when pastries are sub-par. This place was such a pleasant find. It’s located conveniently before entering balboa island. Lots of outdoor seating. Service is lovely and I’ve done takeout multiple times with the same excellent taste and quality. My 17 month old loved the breakfast bagel sandwich and he is hard to please. Definitely recommend.

Welcoming place! The staff was awesome. My siblings and I found this gem by pure happenstance, we were in a Newport to reunite at our childhood vacation spot in memory of parents. The staff was so kind they brought us a complimentary tray of their delightful delicious pistachios muffins and chocolate croissant. I had the ham and cheese criossant.. so yummy. I will be returning with the family soon!Thank you Java!

Sweet people, yummy snax & coffees. Love that you can arrive at odd hours like afternoon teatime; open until 6pm. A great little spot to tuck in for a little repast. Tiny inside--sit outside before or after grocery shopping, dry cleaners, alterations, etc. I treasure small cafes like this. The clientele can be demanding & impolite--please, as a Newport resident, try a bit more kindness to staff at our local hangouts.

Very expensive. The croissant was soft and chewy instead of flaky and the tea is $5. Ridiculous
