Decent food. Not the best Mexican I’ve ever had, but I’d return. Service wasn’t great considering they auto charged gratuity.

Watch out compadres, it’s $86.19 for two of the Sunday buffets. Also, the Mariachi will play enough music for 500 people at a football stadium approximately 16 inches from the back of your head while you try to eat your beans.

First time at Kalaveras and wow what a great spot. Service top notch food outstanding. As a pilot I eat all over and this ranks ups there with my top three favorite Mexican restaurants. Highly recommend

Kalaveras is always so fun and sooo good. I am so bummmmed though that they changed the happy hour times to end at 6pm vs 7pm. Ill definitely be here for the tacos on taco Tuesday, but i will definitely have to find a different happy hour spot

Stay AWAY from the brunch. I really don't like handing out bad reviews; however, this place for brunch deserves the poor accolades. Atmosphere, feels like a dinning hall in school. There are a few booths but for the most part you are herded like cattle into this square area where noise bounces off the walls. The service, I think they are trying; however, miss the mark entirely for brunch. Saw our server maybe four times during entire experience and that was just to deliver our drinks. Food, hot items in dishes were cold... someone needs to let them know that steam chaffing dishes need to be used and not the ones with the little warming lanterns underneath. Cold dishes were not nearly cold enough. We saw food sit out the entire time with nobody attending to anything to check on it. Bottomless mimosas, terrible. Pre mixed with a juice similar to OJ (mostly sugar) and bubbles. When we asked to have them poured separately, ya would have thought we were asking for the world. Ordered a skinny margarita with Don and I drank a lime juice drink. Didn't taste anything other than lime. Then there was the mariachi band. I love a good mariachi band.. and these guys were good; however, playing in the square box where sound just vibrated throughout... made it so super loud. Like conversations had to stop as you couldn't hear anything above the music. Then there is the price... $40 for crap... really??? Robbery. We arrived at about 12:45 so everything should have been in full swing brunch mode; however, it was screaming shut down. These folks need to kill this thing before it kills someone. Kalaveras needs to stick to what they are really good at which is lunch and dinner menu items. The food, service and drinks rock for menu lunch and dinner items. Just do everyone a favor and with completely revamp how their brunch is done or stay away from the money grab. Until that happens, the one start it is with advice to skip this place for brunch and try another location =(

The food was very good. Service was good, a little slow on the drinks, but the margaritas were delicious. It was a little loud but tolerable. Will definitely return and recommend it to my friends.

This was my first time at a Kalaveras where it was very quiet with low music and we were the only ones in the restaurant which I thought was odd for a Sunday evening but maybe the Newport Beach location isn't as popular as the other locations. Either way it was still a great time and towards the end of our time there they cranked up the music volume to its normally loud levels
I have only been to this location twice and It did not disappoint 🤩 first time I tried the hot chocolate and it came with small conchas which btw it was the bomb. With a burrito 🌯 I thought it had a earthy taste which not going to lie it taste good! This being my second time coming to this place but for my birthday 🎉 and it was great service, food, and ambiance was awesome. Def planning on going back for another birthday 🎉 Thanks to our waitress she was so awesome!

A funny thing happened on the way today FedEx drop-off. Kalaveras is convientley located off of Jamboree. For the street tacos Tuesday, you are seated and then order the number of $1.50 per Taco that you want. Then you line up to get your Tacos. You can choose from about 5 types of meat Tacos. Then, you can add vegetables and salsa types. There is a modern mexican restaurant vibe here. Have fun.

Worst food ever I got food poisoning from the food and got really sick so be careful…my friend wouldn’t even eat it it was so bad the best thing about it was our waitress she was great but everything else was Terrible !!!!!!
