Love this local healthy family owned and operated Mexican cafe in the heart of Corona del Mar. My boyfriend James and I love to dine here for breakfast or lunch. Their breakfast burritos hit the spot after a walk on the beach and their chicken tacos are delicious! Enjoy!

Ever since Norm left (and I think ownership changed as well), this place has been in a downward spiral. I occasionally feel nostalgic and try it again only to be disappointed. Things that have changed: the quality of the rotisserie chicken (now chewy and dry), the marinades (now the steak marinade tastes like 95% soy sauce), the rice (it used to be flavorful and full of veggies), the cheese (used to be a thick cut white cheese and now is your standard “Mexican mix”), the tortillas (used to be blue corn tortillas and now your standard white corn, store bought tortillas in a bag), the salsa bar (used to be all you can eat with multiple pico de gallos, other salsas and crema and now you need to ask for salsas that are 10x worse). Anyway, at this point I hope they change names so I am not tempted for one last visit to the old La Fogata.

La Fogata Mexican Food in Corona Del Mar offers an exceptional dining experience that has bold flavors of traditional Mexican cuisine with a focus on health-conscious ingredients.

The menu is a delightful array of fresh dishes that cater to both classic Mexican food lovers and those seeking healthier options. The restaurant offers fresh vegetables, perfectly seasoned proteins, and unique salsas that add a zesty kick. The tacos, a staple of any good Mexican restaurant, featuring lean meats with fresh herbs, gluten free flower and corn tortillas that make for a satisfying yet light meal.

La Fogata also offers a range of vegetarian and vegan options. Also, known for their juicy rotisserie chicken, and flavorful salmon, ensuring that everyone can find something to enjoy. The fresh guacamole, made to order, is a must-try – it’s creamy, flavorful, and goes perfectly with their crisp, house-made tortilla chips.

I haven’t been to la fagota in a couple yrs. We just had it delivered and what a disappointment, I used to love the Baja burrito wet w/extra cheese. They changed the sauce, didn’t add extra cheese, there was no guacamole in it, it was all lettuce (they obviously didn’t drain the water) rice and chopped onions and maybe 5 beans I suggest you walk in watch them make your meal. If you order the wet burrito ask to taste that disgusting sauce before you pay $25.00 for it. Should of went to Del taco at least they are consistent and could of fed my whole family for twenty five bucks.
