Dinner was satisfactory. I think the dinner menu is nice overall, with a good selection of fish and meat entrees as well as well-conceived plant-based dishes. I enjoyed the lightly garlicky roasted Nantes carrots with the sunflower cream. The rabbit pozole was also solid, though mostly ordered out of curiosity about what rabbit tastes like (somewhere between chicken and pork). The non-dairy birthday dessert was an amusingly small scoop of the meyer lemon sorbet to share amongst four spoons but is a nice palate refresher, especially after sharing a bite of the pan-seared halibut (served with tempura asparagus and a simple furikake fried rice) that was the Lido Catch of the day. Enjoyed the live music on a Wednesday evening. Not sure why this restaurant always seems to be empty compared to the adjacent establishments. Perhaps it's an aesthetic reason, but I think it deserves just as much patronage as next door, though you should definitely expect to be paying the price for the whole package.

The service was fantastic, our waiter was super friendly and attentive. He kindly explained the menu for our group and made recommendations too! The outdoor seating is nice, and we had a pretty view of the subset skies. The food was great for sharing, but the flavors were lacking in a few of the dishes we tried!

Lido Bottle is our absolute favorite spot in Newport/Costa Mesa. The vibe, the staff, the food - all so amazing. My wife and I have been coming here for years since its opening and still can't get enough. The seasonal changes to the menu are always incredible and the staff makes you feel at home every time. We were excited to dine here as the reviews have been positive. We were discussing some wonderful news and in great spirits. I started off with a hot tea to ward off the chill from outside. Though soda for my boyfriend was unavailable, it only added to the charm of spontaneity as we explored alternative options. I had a tomato bisque soup as my appetizer, which tasted delightful. However, our patience was tested as the minutes stretched into over an hour-long wait for our entrees. The hamburger that my boyfriend ordered tasted sour and he said we should have just went to In-n-out for dinner, because it would have been better and faster. I had the pesto pasta, which was the most dissatisfying thing to eat. The pasta was extremely oily and lacked flavor. This extinguished the flames of excitement that fueled the evening. Despite our initial enthusiasm, this experience left us questioning the proclaimed award winning status of this restaurant.

My husband, daughter and I came to Lido Bottle Works for dinner on Sunday, March 3, the first day of the OC Restaurant Week. We all chose the Restaurant Week menu. Our waiter didn't know much about it at the start, but he redeemed himself as he brought each of the courses of this 4-course menu. The food was outstanding! Each course was perfectly seasoned with very fresh ingredients and complementary tastes. My only complaint is that the amount of food for each course was scant. The price warranted a bit more food in each course. The one exception was dessert; that was an adequate portion. This was my first visit to this restaurant and I would visit it again.
