Rotten whip cream…
After eating pastry at Moulin for breakfast, we got stomach cramps from the whip cream. We figured they tasted different, but no one helped or compensated us.
Great food we just had croissant breakfast sandwiches delicious. All the food looked fresh and flavorful. Beautiful outdoor seating.
Great food and coffee. Friendly service. A French experience.
Moulin is one of my favorite coffee shops in socal
Must try, locals love this place, great food, great service:)
As someone who lived in France for a few years, this place is so bad. I’ve tried a few times with different orders but it’s just so bad.
Edit review post owners response: It’s incredibly strange and frankly telling that the owner of a restaurant would respond with 'Prozac maybe' when a customer shares that they didn’t enjoy the food. It says a lot about Moulin’s respect for their customers’ experiences.
Could have sturdier seats
Love the authentic French food and pastries, so much detail.

The omelette was overcooked - hardly a French omelette which is odd since this is owned by a French person. It is also not real eggs: there was a strange sheen to the outside and lack of taste of eggs. They can't do bacon on the side - just in the omelette in bits and pieces. It's probably not real bacon is why. The Mont Blanc is terrible. Has an odd taste to it. The croissants are pretty good. The crepes are not too bad, a bit too sweet. Some of the staff are nice. Some are flat out rude- I felt transported to some of the rude cafes in Paris. The hours on their voicemail are completely wrong. The hours on the side on their store are also wrong. They close the kitchen half an hour before they close which they do not tell you until you try to order something. Their hours are short so it's odd they would close before they state their closing hour. Their outside tables are too close. Their response is all you need to know about their attitude.
Fast and friendly service.

Came here for the atmosphere, which is very nice because they play French radio and have a nice outdoor fountain. I ordered a Moulin Omelette but they charged me $1 for the cheese. Not sure I understand, why is it an omelette if it doesn’t include cheese? Sort of flavorless. At least it was only $14 and not the usual ridiculous Newport Beach breakfast pricing over $20.

Feels like a café mixed with a bistrot, and the pastries and viennoiseries are almost universally excellent. I only dislike the flan parisien, and I have tried every pastry they sell, so you will probably be happy no matter what sweet treat you order. I'm very happy they don't do the tragic American thing of making pastries noxiously sweet. Their kitchen has a very balanced hand with the sugar, and it lets the flavors really sing.
