Mutts is one of the oldest dive bars in Newport with over 50 years open. The music is always great (One of my favorite reasons for going), and their beer selection is outstanding with probably something like 40 or 50 beers on tap. The food is really good, the nachos are amazing and huge portions. My favorite thing is the mahi burrito, which you can’t find in most restaurants. The iconic sign outside always has something great to say! I highly recommend Mutts and one of my go too’s while I’m in Newport.

Love to go for breakfast. We're repeat patrons and when our friends come to town it's definitely on their to do list. Good food, portions are large and beach front. An awesome way to start the day, especially if you're looking to slow down to beach speed and recharge.

Location was perfect, right by the beach and we had a table right next to the open window. We met a lot of nice locals and our server was nice and attentive.
The food portions are massive!! I ordered spinach dip, cheese fries, kids bean burrito, and lady salad. I was told the tuna melt was amazing and my husband brought up how good it was again today.
The only downside was there was a broken plastic bread tie in my salad, it was delicious other than that!

I came here on Taco Tuesday and I have to say their Birria taco is excellent. I got two Birria, one Grilled fish, and a Balboa Island Iced Tea. All were great and service was on point. Definitely recommend this place.

Thank God for the food and service because the music was WAAAYYYY TOOOO LOUD. We asked our server, Julie, to turn the music down. She said she would try. Aside from that, our server was so amazing. She was kind, always checked on us to make sure we were good and that our food was good. She got us our waters immediately and our drinks came out quickly. We were there this past Wednesday for lunch and we ordered a California Dreamin Burger and a TAB sandwich- so delicious. Definitely coming back another time! Really though, I hope the music isn’t as loud on our next visit.

Been going there for years. Was in Sunday afternoon and it was half as busy as I'm used to.
Order a margarita rocks no salt at the bar. The bartender didn't understand my order?
He asked me if I wanted margarita mix with no alcohol. I said I want a regular margarita. Then he asked me if I wanted salt. I said I had said no salt.
The bartender is probably a nice guy. He told me he came here from Mexico about a year and a half ago.
I would ask Mutt Lunch's to only hire bartenders that speak good English. The bartender thought I was mean. I think he and Mutt Lynch's management are not smart or not respectful of America by making good English such a low priority. It's wonderful to know more than one language. My Spanish is actually decent. But if you're going to live in the United States, please learn and speak good English. It's beneficial for you and every other American.
I would not consider this place family friendly. I've had fun there in the past, but I always thought it was 21 and up only.
The margarita was ok.
If you think this is a racist post, you need to re-educate yourself. There's a big difference between racism and smart good policies.
