Friendly owners, delicious rice bowl! I found this place while looking to try something new in the Newport/Costa Mesa area. We knew they’re closing soon so I wanted to give them a visit! When we walked in the owner gave us recommendations based on what’s popular since it’s our first time. The rice bowl was really flavorful and delicious! Highly recommend to support them so they can close up for retirement on a high note ?
They’re closing! I shed a tear when I walked out but I’ve been coming here for years. Super happy for them that they’re retiring. You won’t be able to find a better Japanese restaurant in the world! Just stopped by this place for lunch! I live in the area and just know finding out about Newport Fresh. The FRESHEST sashimi bowl I've ever had. Their homemade rice makes it 100x better. The sweet owners are retiring so the restaurant closes at the end of July. Be sure to stop by before they do!
