We found this place on a whim after our wait at another sushi restaurant was over 1.5 hrs. We decided to do the omakase. It was the single best sushi experience I've had in my life. Not only was the selection given to us continuously amazing bite after bite, but the service was impeccable. We definitely found a new favorite spot. Treat yourself to a special evening here. They also have a non omakase option if that's not in your budget.

One of the best sushi places I've eaten at. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for quality sushi.

Had the omakase at the sushi bar. Very good food and sushi. Yoshi San was very helpful in explaining each serving and the fish quality was top notch. The service is impeccable.

I do understand inflation but dinner for 2 and it was not omekase but $230?!?! The restaurant in the peninsula is way over price for not great food. You are basically paying for the location

I only seek out Japanese-owned sushi restaurants, and San Shi Go is one of the best. The omakese is top quality, fresh and innovative.

Overdue sushi dinner, but finally it happened. I had a blast with the sushi chef. The dishes were absolutely delicious. The chef banned me from having soy sauce (minus 5 stars. jk). Please forgive me that I had too many shots of sake, that I didn't pay attention to all the items the chef mentioned. What were ordered: 2 large bottles of Akabu hot sake. Live Sweet Shrimp x2 Kushi Oysters (4 pieces) Uni Japan- 2 pieces Uni Santa Barbara-2 pieces Buri- 2 pieces Sayori- 2 pieces *I don't remember the rest Dessert: Green Tea and original creme brûlée (recommend the original flavor) I asked and was told the bill came out to be $470 after $80 gratuity I ordered from the menu instead of Omakase, because then I could choose my own quality fish. BTW, Omakase would be $175-$200 a person that day if opted for that. It was an intimate ambiance, but the place was empty when I went on a Tuesday. Only 3 other couples, besides me. I would recommend this only for special occasions or just if you want to experience lol.

Food, excellent, vibe, excellent, service is outstanding highly recommended to anyone looking for a good sushi dine out spot with great quality and great service. Me Gumi was bar far the best service I've had in a while. She's sweet, personable, efficient, attentive and genuine. Definitely coming back

Amazing meal from start to finish! The omakase is an ongoing experience. Make sure to tell the chef when you are getting full because they will keep making you food until you ask them to stop! The sushi chefs here are all great and the service is top notch. Highly recommend for a special night out as this can get pretty pricy $$$$. You can tell they put a lot of love into their craft and each dish they serve you is like a piece of art. If you're celebrating for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary they will bring out something special for you and probably sing :)

Best Omakase!!! Fantastic service!!! Worth the trip to Balboa. We've been checking out different places and this is still the best. Check it out.

The omakase experience was wonderful and after all the beautiful appetizers, included 3 plates of sushi. The staff is wonderful, the food delicious, a fantastic date night.

A great omakase experience. Chefs here tend to do more appetizer dishes before they start serving sushi, and to me, that is what makes this place different from Ohshima. Attentive service. They are willing to work with you on splitting up sake into multiple portions. Omakase is on the pricier side but worth the experience

Everything was amazing! The service was great and the food was delicious. San Shi Go holds a special place in my heart and will forever be one of my top sushi favorites in OC. They were a recommendation from a friend and definitely did not disappoint. The ambiance was casual and intimate at the same time, we had a table secluded from others. Can't wait to come back!
