My fav spot in Newport, best nachos, strong drinks and the coolest staff. I terrorize the bartenders every weekend and they’re still so nice to me LOL palmilla is the best

This restaurant does not respect my 1st amendment rights

I visited on a Saturday night, and while I expected a busy atmosphere, I was extremely disappointed with how a serious allergy concern was handled at the bar.

I specifically ordered a Mezcal Margarita without Tajín or any spices on the rim due to an allergy that causes my throat to swell. I explained this to the bartender and even wrote it down because the environment was too loud for clear communication.

Despite this, the cocktail was still served with Tajín on the rim. When I pointed it out, the bartender wiped the rim with a napkin and handed it back to me, rather than remaking it. I reiterated that I was allergic and could still see particles floating in the drink.

Instead of preparing a fresh cocktail, he simply strained the drink into another glass and added ice and lime juice, which is both unprofessional and unsafe when dealing with a food allergy.

I ended up not drinking the cocktail, yet it remained on my tab and was not removed or replaced.

I understand that the bar was busy, but allergy safety should never be compromised. It takes minimal effort to remake a simple cocktail correctly, especially when a health concern is clearly communicated.

Unfortunately, this was my first visit and it left a very negative impression. I expected better care and professionalism, and I hope this feedback encourages better training and attentiveness in the future.

Beautiful birthday brunch here. Easy and quick valet parking. Food was delicious. Presentation was beautiful. French toast and huevos rancheros were both fantastic. Margarita choices to your hearts delight with plenty of tequila options. Ambience and decor is beautiful. Will be back to visit this spot in the evening. Recommended for sure.

This place was a vibe and I had a great date with my shorty on our first night in so cal. Food was great, but doesn’t match the vibe of restaurant, it could be better ! But it was super solid, server was very nice and attentive, the margarita was fire! Would come back for sure! Highly recommend in the Newport area.

Went here on a date night and was in love with the atmosphere! Our server was great, very attentive and informative! I personally thought the food was okay but not bad at all. Definitely a great spot for a date. :)

Best Cocina in Lido and even Newport! Not the priciest but for sure worth a date night or going with friends. Atmosphere takes you to Tulum!

Over priced

I’ve been meaning to come in for lunch for a long time and today was finally the day. I love the vibe of this place and there being vegan menus is a huge bonus. Didn’t have to read everything to find what I wanted. Staff was great I came in on a Wednesday for lunch so I sat at the bar. Bartender was awesome! Great service excellent recommendations - she is plant based so she knows. I had the vegetable tacos and a margarita.

The food was really bad. I ordered steak, and it tasted terrible. The shrimp was old and not fresh.

Very lively and trendy dinner spot. There’s music and a lot of people dancing around 11. The drinks were some of the best I’ve had and the food was all good too. I would definitely try one of their many margarita options. I was just a bit disappointed about the service.

After a day at the office this place is a perfect vibe to relax. They're have a retractable roof that opens. Great drinks and great food. The homemade tortillas and sauce trio was great. I ended up ordering the salmon entree with veggies and that was really good. For a dessert bite we ordered the church's and sauce trio. When I'm back in California I will be coming back.

This is such a unique looking restaurant, almost feels like you are in another part of the world. The vibes are really cool and the food is pretty good as well. Really nice date spot.
