Incredible Omakase! Top tier dining experience in Newport Beach. Be prepared for a hefty bill! It's well worth it though!

Let’s make it simple: we travel from Las Vegas to Newport just for this restaurant. We first stumbled upon this place 4 years ago because it was the only restaurant open at 830 and it is an absolute gem.The food is out of this world and the service is exceptional. They even helped me propose two years at the restaurant and instantly recognized us when we went back this year.

5 out of 5 stars... Best service I have seen. Best sushi I ever had. Calamari was fresh and sauce was just right. Ademame was tasty. Right next to the beach and the main parking lot was very convenient. But back to the heartwarming welcome greeting at the door by full staff, all smiles and fun. Attentive and friendly service staff... What more can you possibly ask for. A hidden gem for sure. ?

A great omakase experience. Chefs here tend to do more appetizer dishes before they start serving sushi, and to me, that is what makes this place different from Ohshima. Attentive service. They are willing to work with you on splitting up sake into multiple portions. Omakase is on the pricier side but worth the

One of the most reasonably priced omakase options around town, although the price has increased since my first visit. Despite the change, considering the quality and variety of the food, it remains one of my top recommendations for omakase. There are two options available, and it's advisable to make a reservation, ensuring you're aware of your booking time as changes may not be possible afterward. The sashimi quality is excellent, but what stands out the most are the surprisingly good appetizers—each uniquely customized. I appreciate their balanced and diverse flavors; it's a delightful experience.

Everything was amazing! The service was great and the food was delicious. San Shi Go holds a special place in my heart and will forever be one of my top sushi favorites in OC. They were a recommendation from a friend and definitely did not disappoint. The ambiance was casual and intimate at the same time, we had a table secluded from others. Can't wait to come back!

Made a reservation to celebrate 2 anniversary's several weeks in advance to do the Chef Special. We were called the day before and told that they raised the prices to $170 per person and they wouldn't honor the $100 pp price we were originally quoted. They also asked us to change our reservation time so they could accommodate other guests. They required a deposit on a CC so we felt a little trapped. We got to keep our reservation time, but had to be moved to a table rather than the counter. After sitting down, we informed them of my daughters very allergic reaction to Yuzu. But their response was that they don't clean the cutting boards or knives between meals and she would need to order a chicken dish!?! Great Anniversary! Last time we ever go go here.

This place was pretty awful. We made dinner reservations a month ago to celebrate two anniversaries. We booked dinner at the sushi bar for their omakase. When we booked we were told a per person price. We accepted and put a deposit down. The day before the reservation they called and said the price went up. It almost doubled! (Bait and switch) this was unacceptable to us so we asked to move our reservation to a table so we could pay per item. When we sat down a guest of our party explained she was very allergic to yuzu.( she needs a epipen) the chef then explained they don’t clean the cutting board and knife in between preparing items. We asked if tonight he could use a clean cutting board and knife to prepare her food. (You know so she doesn’t die) again they said no. “She could order from the cooked items” we didn’t come to a sushi restaurant to eat chicken. We had to leave because of this. It seems dangerous and a health hazard not to clean. I’m wildly disappointed in this place.

I wish i could give more than 5 stars! This place was so amazing that we went back the next night! We felt like family as they knew exactly who we were just walking past the restaurant during the day before our 2nd visit! The food is the BEST and the service is the BEST!! I have been to Michelin star places and this place blew them out of the water!! Thank you for an epic 2 nights with you all! We will hopefully see you soon!!

San Shi Go is a must-visit gem for sushi enthusiasts. The omakase experience is exceptional, showcasing the culinary mastery of Chef Yochi, Chef Macodo. When you call to make reservations, Jun is always there and he is simply the best! He always remembers his customers. Their top-notch customer service, combined with a delightful sense of humor, adds a personal touch to an already exquisite meal. From start to finish, it's a culinary journey that shouldn't be missed. Must visit!
