Dining experience was nice, but not as high quality or quantity as we've seen in the last. Prime rib French dip has shrunk significantly over time which is almost enough to turn us away as that's why my wife wants to go there. Also, i've eaten manu chicken pots pies over the years at Side Door and Last nights was nearly devoid of vegetables and the sauce was no longer creamy. Service and fish and chips were great...Sorry to be the beared of bad news, but thought you would appreciate feedback.
The Meat and cheese board has gone downhill in the past year as before they made it in front of the guests and now it is made in the kitchen. The prime rib dip the portion was skimpy and the aujus was ice cold. When I told the waiter he did not believe me.There is no offering of desert and the drink pour was weak as they used to pour a good drink.
Lately we've noticed this place is not as good as it has been in the last. The food was lukewarm, service was slow- looked like she had way too many tables and had trouble managing them all. Food came out pretty slow. They also took one of the best items off the menu (Gratin potatoes)- and instead we were given partially cold mashed potatoes and gravy. Sad to say it's slightly declining in quality but hopefully this is a short lived thing and I can come back and change my opinion. We've been going a ton for a few years now but am inclined to not visit very often anymore.
Second time for happy hour. Again, food was awful. Onion dip was inedible, smash burger thin and overcooked. Server was confused, bringing things out of sequence. Never again.
Great food and better service

It's categorized online as speakeasy but drinks at bar doesnt reflect that. The drinks were average.
Sidedoor in Corona del Mar is, quite frankly, a delight. The sort of place one rather stumbles upon and immediately decides to linger.
The charcuterie is splendidly done, the roasts hearty yet polished, and the wine list jolly well considered. Service strikes that rare balance, attentive without hovering, friendly without presumption.
One departs thoroughly satisfied, unhurried, and already scheming the next visit. A proper gem, understated and entirely worth the detour.
A cracking little haven, check it out, lads and lasses!

Lester in the bar and as our waiter was a tremendous + asset to SideDoor and its customers. Everyone cares and are super helpful - Food was spectacular .... it's a great menu.. Drinks are decadently made and delightful on our palates. Keep up the great work. Since 1965. We share a birthday ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ
JoJo aways exceeds our expectations with phenomenal service! She greets us every visit with a huge smile and is always accommodating, she makes sure we are taken care of even if we don't get her section. Food was delicious and prepared to perfection. Always a perfect evening at SideDoor!

Favorite on our annual trips to California. Prime rib sandwich is a winner, as are the cheese trays. Christina a wonderful server.
My wife and I are big fans of The Side Door and Five Crowns. So it came as a huge surprise to us how disappointing my birthday dinner was last night. The food was excellent, as usual. The prices have gone up since our last visit in April, which wasn't surprising. What was surprising was the added fee for a side if you didn't want chips. Up until two weeks ago you could get any side (ie creamed spinach, mashed potatoes) at no additional cost. Being a Lawrys cardholder I was being given double points for my birthday as stated in an email. That is until our server informed me that management wouldn't honor the offer. I showed her the email and that it shown online on my card. After back and forth our server said management relented and it would show up the next day. Still haven't seen it. Finally, after paying the bill the server realized she had forgotten to bring out my complementary birthday cake. Oops, too late. So a very happy birthday to me The Side Door.
Lots of food options. Food was very good. Prime rib, steaks, lobster. The room was nicely lit and ambient. I really like the decor (wood panel walls, old pictures, paintings and candle sticks on the walls. It was very ambient and relaxing and the atmosphere was too.
Great happy hour menu! Love the smash burger and mussels. Could have more cocktails at HH. Great staff and service.
The food at Side Door was fine, but nothing special. We had their signature plate, prime roast with sides of mashed potatoes and creamed corn. The gravy on the mashed potatoes tasted as though it came out of a jar or a can. The one highlight was their crab cake appetizer, which was very good.
