Our favorite salad, Pride of the Crown, was changed drastically from what they have served for years. We found it tasteless after substituting their original butter lettuce for an inferior type and being stingy on the rest of the ingredients. Won't order again.

Fewer vegan friendly menu items than before. Salad served featured wilted lettuce so not so appealing. We now you can do better, as you have in the past.

We thoroughly enjoyed the casual vibe, but excellent small bites. Two each were definitely enough to fill us up. The chili was amazing, and onion fondue was out of this world. Great wine list too. Sorry no pictures. Will visit again soon.

So enjoyed the more casual side of the beloved Five Crowns. The food and service were still top notch without the more upscale undertones of the Five Crowns. Nice that the luscious prime rib selection was still available but also had more subdued yet delectable dishes available as alternative options. Chicken pot pie and fish & chips were delicious as well as the potato chips with stilton/bacon and the shishito peppers. Big time flavors but for comfort food favorites. Our first time after years of enjoying Five Crowns for special get togethers. Visiting from LA, this was a great option for a short stopover in Corona Del Mar. Good eats with high quality still shining through. You can't go wrong with anything you order.

Quaint, comfortable, cozy, with just delicious food! The lobster bisque was probably the best soup I've ever had and their beef dip sandwiches are so flavorful and succulent. We loved every single thing we had. The waiters and staff were super nice and excellent.

A mainstay for our family over 50 years. Side Door is a nice option for dining. For some reason no happy hour which we'd been looking forward to for others to join. Starts again 1/12? Anyway... fish and chips, drinks, fantastic meat and side options.

SideDoor wants to make sure you arrive for your reservation and that's cool. However, they also need to ensure you have a table if and when you have a reservation. Leaving you standing and then stuffing you into a communal table isn't cool, especially for what used to be a frequent patron. And, to make bad even worse, the server didn't serve well and his coworkers were doing more of his work than he was. Time for a good GM to work the floor and get this place back to its prior glory.

We ordered both the crown cut and the Henry XIII CUT prime rib.... could not even understand how a steakhouse like this has reduced its portions to less than mediocre! we have been coming here for years and the size of their prime rib cuts have now disappointed! yet they continue to charge the same prices for their cuts! Done with dining at five crowns! Gulliver‘s Irvine delivers.

Always our go to for a special occasion. A great atmosphere, cosy,welcoming. So good with specialty drinks and the food is always great. It's an icon and a must for all visitors to Coronado Del Mar.
Lamb chops were not the best I have ever had, but quite possibly the most expensive- not really worth the price. Two family members ordered the burger- dry and cold. Waiter took a very long time to take our order/come back once he left the table.

It was an incredibly busy night (as expected as it's the holidays) but it still took nearly 30 minutes for my friend and I to order and receive our one glass of wine. Another issue was I was.not informed when I made this reservation that the food menu would be a set menu and not their regular bar food menu. I would've appreciated a heads up on this change. We ended up leaving early and going elsewhere

Our group was very disappointed that they had changed the menu the day before with no notice to those of us who made reservations. We saw others who left because of it. We specifically made a reservation at Side Door (not Five Crowns) so we could choose and share a variety of dishes. The menu that was presented only allowed for 3 appetizers and then only the option to choose a multi course meal. Not what we wanted at all. We had a fabulous waiter and allowed us to ordered the prime rib dip sandwiches (off menu) so we were very pleased with that offer.

The Christmas spirit is alive at The Side Door! Beautifully decorated, great service and delicious food. I had the Burger and it was amazing. My son had the prime rib and loved it.
