It's the perfect spot for a date night or special occasion, yet the food is so good you'll find yourself coming back just to try something new. This place is lovely! I dream of being able to make meatballs as good as the ones served here. The staff was kind and as someone with allergies I felt very safe that they knew exactly what was in their food. Would recommend for a cute date or wine & yap night with the girlies!!

Visited Sol in Newport for the first time today, this was top to bottom one of the best Mexican restaurants we’ve been to in Newport! The atmosphere of sitting by the bay with some delicious margaritas was a great way to spend a Saturday evening. As we walked in we were greeted by Sarah who made us feel warm & welcomed. She was awesome!! Turns out she’s the manager for this location & it’s not every day you get that personal touch! The staff was so friendly & made sure we were well taken care. My wife & I had the Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita which paired perfectly with the Coconut Calamari appetizer. The tacos were cooked to PERFECTION! Definitely coming back soon & would recommend to anyone looking for some great Mexican food on the water!

I miss this place. I went whenever I was in town. It’s been a few years, but my Favs were ahi chowder, Cioppino, and especially Grandma Jill’s Meatloaf(a little taste of home for a weary traveler!) The atmosphere was always warm and inviting, a home away from home. Thanks for many a nice dinner, and one of my fondest memories of Newport Beach, Misty! Keep the faith!!
The rack of lamb was grilled to perfection—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. It came with creamy garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach that complemented the dish beautifully. The Parmesan garlic bread was a standout—soft, chewy, and buttery, served with their house-made marinara sauce that had just the right kick. We also tried the hand-rolled sirloin and pork meatballs in a spicy gravy, which were rich and satisfying. The SOL bruschetta, served over toasted French bread, was fresh and flavorful. And the house-made sangria? Absolutely delightful—a perfect balance of sweetness and spice. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a memorable dinner. Can’t wait to return!

This delightful bistro was the find of my trip! I had the Caesar salad, filet with garlic mash and spinach, a fine red wine, and a French press coffee. Alone, I sat at the bar, greeted warmly by the owner and chatted up by regulars. If I was in town another night, or three, I would go back each time and try other delicious looking menu items. It's a real deal, warm, cozy, friendly and fine establishment. 5 stars!!

I met my Best Friends, I had not seen for 14 years. This was the perfect place to meet and dine. Delicious food, portions were good for the price. The hospitality was very warm, and Customer Service orientated. Holiday decorations, brought it all together.
