Come a few times a year with friends. When it is slow, I wish the waitstaff would come check in on us a little more frequently.

My friends and I visited this Mexican restaurant for a weekend dinner, and it did not disappoint. Located in the Newport Hill Shopping Center, parking was plentiful, and the restaurant boasts a comfortable ambiance with ample seating—including patio options—and even a bar setup. The service staff were friendly, making our dining experience enjoyable from start to finish.

We started with the blackened chicken nachos, which came in a good portion loaded with cheese and meat, though the meat was a bit on the lighter side. For our mains, we ordered a variety of dishes including the tacos carnitas and steak, Rosa burrito, Rosa bowl, and the Rosa combo. The meat in each dish was delicious, with the steak taco standing out in particular, and the Rosa combo was both plentiful and satisfying.

Overall, this is a great spot to enjoy a taste of Mexican cuisine in a relaxed setting.

Good food! We came in with a group of 17 and had a great time. Loved the carnitas plate.

Taco Rosa in Newport Beach is nothing short of a culinary fiesta, where traditional Mexican flavors meet an elevated, coastal twist. The ambiance feels upscale yet approachable, with colorful décor that’s both vibrant and inviting—perfect for those looking for a bit more flair in their taco night.

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the lobster enchiladas. These are, quite simply, divine. The lobster is tender and buttery, generously tucked inside warm tortillas and smothered in a rich, creamy poblano sauce that adds a smoky depth without overshadowing the delicate sweetness of the lobster. It’s a perfect marriage of flavors—like Baja California itself was wrapped up in each bite. The citrus crema drizzled on top is a genius touch, brightening the dish and cutting through the richness just enough to keep you coming back for more.

The service is attentive, and the margaritas flow as smoothly as the evening itself. Try their hibiscus margarita—it’s refreshing and pairs beautifully with the indulgence of the enchiladas.

Taco Rosa isn’t just serving dinner; it’s serving a full-on experience. Five stars for a restaurant that transforms classic Mexican cuisine into something extraordinary—especially with those unforgettable lobster enchiladas!

Gem of a Mexican restaurant, with white table clothes and 10/10 service. The meals are authentic and tasty. We usually go to larger establishments but decided to go outside of our comfort zone, and we are glad we did. Highly recommended. Abundant parking.

The truth is, I didn't love the food precisely because it's not at all good... I ordered some steak tqcos and I ordered them without edam cheese and they came in tame ways with the cheese... it was the steak mixed with mushrooms and onion and there were more of those ingredients than the meat itself (very little meat and tough). I also ordered a michelada and it did not taste good… I consider the prices high for the quality of the food… I do not recommend it
