I walked in and I was surprised to see how cheap all the food was (California standards) and I ordered the onion rings and the everyday special (Burger + Fries + Drink for 10.50) and they were pretty good. The food wasn’t master chef food but it was very comforting and fills you up for less, and there are plenty of items on the menu to choose from so a burger and fries were just a taste of what’s to come.The service was great, the owner was super nice and the chefs were wholesome and cool.The restaurant is small but the atmosphere screamed artistic so size didn’t really matter. This restaurant is located near the beach so I understand that its main intention was to give beach people more food for less and I like that. So if you want something to fill you up for less, come eat here!

The owner was kind and accommodating. The restaurant is beach front and still has relatively low prices. Really great food. Some of the favorites: shrimp enchiladas, chicken taco, and the vegan chicken was fantastic. We wouldn't order the carnitas again.

family and I had an awesome dinner here last night as the sun set on Newport Beach.we were delighted to see a large vegan menu, the food was absolutely delicious. The place was clean, prices reasonable and the owner and staff were awesome people. Definitely worth a stop by if in the area! A bonus, the owner has been vegan for 13 years and understands good food, and the challenges of finding good food as a vegan!
I would rate it five out of five, if HappyCow would allow for it!

I'm giving 5 stars for the excellent location and view as well as the service! And most of all they have excellent food options spanning all protein types which was really appreciated because our crew spanned full paleo to vegan diets!! The salsas (homemade) were great. The beans were fresh cooked (not canned). My kids said it was the best Mexican they have had in a long time. This place clearly takes care of its customers and it is highly appreciated. We will be back.
Our food came out quick hot and delicious. The owner Tina was so friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. Would definitely recommend and come back again. Any woman owned business whose owner walks 5 miles in heels and dresses like a Boss every day and brags about her employees gets my vote.

The woman owner who helped us was very nice and welcoming. Attentive and gave suggestions. Let us know about drinks available at Cabo Cantina.We ordered a few items and they were good. Shrimp taco was fresh and shrimp flavor was not overpowered by the toppings such as the chipotle sauce. The asada tacos had a good serving of meat, the tortillas so soft they fell apart in your mouth. The meat was so fresh and tasty that a little splash of lemon highlighted the flavor and no salsa was needed. The guacamole was chunky and fresh, we didn’t feel cheated (aka we are Mexican)!Ambiance was good, not too crowded, and pleasant music in the background (not too loud). Well thought out and well executed beach front restaurant. Bravo!Conclusion:Would recommend!! Will come again next time we are in town.
