Myself and my spouse have been eating here for the last 6 or so years now. I can say the quality of the food, staff and overall restaurant is great! It's an intersection of locals, folks who are "in the know" and tourists it seems like, emphasis on locals. I generally don't think that is always the tried-and-true sign of a good eating establishment, but in this case it certainly rings true. Their portions are great, the quality and consistency of the food is great. It's a bit of a vestige of an older era of restaurants/bars that simply served good food, a vibrant bar, and a little bit of something for everyone. I think perhaps due to ownership, kitchen staff and waitstaff they've really been able to keep it at a very good quality while not having to reinvent themselves or update to modern "culinary experiences" that many of us are used to seeing today in newer establishments. It's really worth checking out- it's unpretentious, offers consistent, quality food and great service.

I ordered the special prime rib, medium rare, I needed a chainsaw to cut thru it...

As hounds who loves nothing more than a good outing to The Alley in Newport Beach, we can confidently bark about the pawsome experience it offers. The Pups on the Patio menu is like a smorgasbord of tail-wagging delights, with treats and snacks that cater to both human and canine palates. Woof!!! But what truly sets this place apart is the exceptional service. The servers, manager, and owner are like a pack of devoted pals, always ready with a scratch behind the ears or a hearty belly rub. It’s a place where dogs like us feel not just welcomed, but truly cherished. A woof-worthy experience, indeed!

We happen to be here on Tri-tip Tuesday. It was flavorful and tender. Exceptional. I also had the bacon cheese covered mash potatoes add on, it was wonderful. There is fun and interesting decor, ally cats painted on mural in ally out the large window. The restaurant was a little dark, but it was also a bar.

We came in last Thursday and had such a great time with Brian the bartender. I've been here before in the dining room and the service was average to say the least but this time at the bar was so much fun. I'll absolutely come back. Thank you for having such great food and hiring people who care!

We love this little neighborhood gem! Always such a warm environment, with locals gathering for a drink with friends or dinner. The food is always really good, and the portions are large. we always have leftovers when we leave. My favorite thing on the menu is the shrimp scampi from the appetizer menu. It's so refreshing and different, it's light, but also very satisfying at the same time. You could get that alone with maybe a side salad and it would make an amazing lunch.

I was in town for work and had the chance to have dinner with local friends. They live up the road in Huntington Beach so this was easy to get to for them. This place was not what I expected at all but it was a good experience. It has a dive bar, dark lighting kind of vibe. I had the Tuesday night tri tip special that came with one side. I did the mushrooms. I love that option. They were tasty and a good sized portion. The tri tip had a mild flavor but tasted better with the a jus and the horseradish cream sauce on the side. One friend had the sanddabs and the other had the chicken piccata. They both liked their meals. Overall a fun locals place. Good food. Ok service.

I can't only remark on the Monte Christo sandwich. That is what I order each time. It is excellent every time. The staff is exceptional. They always check on us after the food is served to make sure everything is to our liking. At most places you have to hunt down the server if something is wrong.
