Wahoo's Fish Taco

Frustrating when you spend a 100 bucks on a few meals and they dont give you utensils. Like ever. And 2 pico de gallo for 5 of the same exact plates.

Wanted a casual place to enjoy a beer and have a taco. The tap needed to be changed and so I changed to Corona bottle. The Baja Fish Taco was not hot or fresh and had no sauce just wet greens with no flavor or lime. The chips were also not fresh. And then I was charged for the beer on tap which was $1.50 difference and I was returned a dollar and asked if that’s ok. Also never was asked how my food is. Disappointing as I Love Wahoo’s!!

Gluten free options. Very helpful lady on the register who understood dietary restrictions. A bit of a wait to get my order during the lunchtime rush.

After a day in Newport Dunes we wanted a quick inexpensive bite to pickup on the way home. We were close to Fashion Island and had eaten at Soku Sushi but wanted to save moolah. So Wahoo’s sounded like the right amount of scratch for our itch. We were going to take it home but the outside area looked inviting. So we sat and ate out of the to go containers. We had not bought drinks but fortunately the spicy tacos, with white rice and black beans were so moist that I got through the entire meal with only one swallow/choke event. That’s important in my book.

3 stars Dead center. Why? Super loud. Service is hit and miss, often order is incorrect. Way over priced for the amount you get. They used to make big fat burritos now they are child size and you have to pay extra for Xtra beans and rice. At least the place is clean and in a good location.

I used to love Wahoos and was excited to see one. .I don't live in the area anymore and don't have one local to me. It was pretty meh. Bland and really skimpy on the portions. Nothing really wrong with it, but I wouldn't go back.
