For food, the Albacore appetizer with the crispy onion topping was an absolute smash hit for the evening, as well as the Crispy Rock roll. They both disappeared faster than I could chew. The sashimi we ordered, in addition to having beautiful plating, was absolutely fresh and delicious. The salmon sashimi in particular just melted on the tongue like butter.
Last but certainly not least, it's not every day that I dine at a Japanese restaurant with a memorable Sake selection. While sake is available at most sushi restaurants these days, after a while you tend to see the same two or three options over and over again. To have an extensive list of various sake options, as well as their house and seasonal sake options was a breath of fresh air.

The a la carte was super overpriced for what we received. The food was decent enough, and the staff was friendly, but it just wasn't worth the price. Maybe the teppan experience is better, but we probably won't come back.

I had an absolutely horrible customer service experience with this restaurant! For a client lunch I ordered a large order the day before for pickup. When I arrived at the time stated on my receipt, they claimed they didn't have the order because they never checked their online orders for that day. Then the host told me that it would take over two hours for the order. He was rude and told me I shouldn't order through DoorDash. I in fact ordered directly from the restaurants website. They shouldn't partner with DoorDash if they aren't going to fulfill their agreement. They put me in a stressful bind but they also lost out on a $500+ order! I do not recommend this restaurant!!!

This was the best sushi I’ve had outside of Japan! The service is fantastic, and you can tell that chef’s know their stuff. Would recommend to anybody looking for sushi in the area
I have been coming to this restaurant for over a decade. The lunchtime staff is terrific, but never in my life I have I ever been treated more rude by a wait staff than the nighttime shift. They clearly didn’t want us there and were blasting music from the kitchen and made it very clear they wanted us to get out. No one approached us to seat us and gave us attitude when we asked if there was someone who could help. Do not come here for dinner. Such a shame for what I considered to be a Newport establishment.

Definitely the best Japanese restaurant in Newport! The food is authentic and plentiful. The staff always greets me as I arrive to pick up my order, and the waiters are polite and friendly. The atmosphere is high class and has good vibes. 5 stars!

This place is terrific! Great sushi for the price! I love their sushi samplers instead of getting 2 pieces. Toro is super fresh. David is the friendliest dude and super great about requests. Ask for his crispy chili sauce, it’s the best!
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. If you get the fried tofu steak have them cube it. Or at least butterfly it tho. Otherwise you get a brick of fried tofu. Also ask for extra crispy!
Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free soy sauce but a lot of their sauces aren’t gluten free.
