1 man wrecking crew. Be patient! He's by himself. He's rough on the edges, but means no harm. His bark is bigger than his bite. Cheaper than any fast food. Will be back.

The owner refused to show us menus (after reading other reviews, I guess they don't have individual menus) and said we could only ever order takeout, but I'm not sure how that's possible if we can't see what they have. They had a really old menu with outdated items and prices but were rude and annoyed when we asked what was available. It is a dine-in restaurant, but they only do takeout? Honestly not sure how they have such a high rating, or are even in business still after reading how they treat a lot of guests consistently. Sad

Hot Wok has some of the most delicious Chinese food: fresh, flavorful, and full of authentic taste. Everything tastes homemade, the portions are generous, and the prices are very affordable for the quality. Definitely a great spot when you want something satisfying and consistently good.

Really great Chinese food. I can’t believe I never noticed this place before, I feel like I found a hidden gem. Large portion sizes and delicious, affordable food. I got two meals plus wings for under $30. That’s crazy today. Plus, it was freshly made. The owner was so kind and friendly, very personable. He told me the orange chicken is great and I’m glad I listened because it really is. The wings were also so juicy and some of the best wings I’ve had. It’s take-out only and cash only. I didn’t realize it was cash only at first so I went to the liquor store next door to get cash and I came back with two drinks without a bag. The owner of the restaurant was shocked. He didn’t give you a bag for the drinks?! What kinda liquor store owner?! And gave me a small bag for my drinks, haha. He’s a funny, nice guy. I’ll be back.

Don’t listen to the bad reviews they just don’t understand this place. It’s a 100/10 local gem. I moved to the valley in 2017 and was totally broke. Pre covid this was a sit down place but still cash only 1 man shop. And when i say 1 man, i mean one guy. He’s got articles up in the wall dating back decades written about his shop. Hes a NoHo institution and this is going the be the freshest Chinese food you ever had. And the prices?! Last I checked a lunch special was <20 and this is a standard Togo box PACKED. Sure does he sometimes tell you he’s changing your order, yeah. Are sometimes the hours adjusted randomly, yeah. But that’s going to be based off what he’s got left. He’s taking your order, cooking it fresh, and chatting with you. Trust me. Just eat what he gives you. If you’re looking to be attended to, and have a nice long sit down dinner with ambience, this place ain’t for you. If you want to meet the man himself, have fresh affordable delicious Chinese, be called “young man” even tho you’ve been a patron for almost a decade, this is your spot. Be sure to tip the guy and respect your elders. I guess it’s take out only now, but cmon, the guys business made it through Covid and is still showing up.

The owner, Quang, is extremely friendly 10/10! I’ve never waited long for an order and they’re extremely humble. Last night I called at closing time and they took my order without any issues- I didn’t even realize their hours till I saw them on the door after i picked up. Definitely a bit embarrassing on my part, but he didn’t bat an eye. Great food, 10/10

The guy just had a really bad attitude. Went in with my dad on Christmas Eve and there was a lot of things wrong with the place, really old outdated menu the bad attitude, the guy even threw down one of his foil containers. He seemed pretty tired of dealing with customers. I probably would’ve eaten there. If my dad weren’t there with me, just didn’t want to tolerate the disrespect. I just feel bad for the guy, hopefully he can get a better attitude. had to leave the place without ordering…

Crazy and rude man who can’t stop yelling to listen to my order. It’s rare to find someone so unpleasant to interact with, it makes me refuse to go. I’ll go elsewhere and save myself from listening to him rant or make random racist comments.
The place is unsanitary and you risk food poisoning. He gave me hot sauce that sits outside in a non-AC room and has obviously gone bad. So I wouldn’t trust how he handles his ingredients.
Also, he refuses to update his menu, so the prices are wrong, half the items are unavailable, and there is no delivery. You will get yelled at if you somehow didn’t know all of this magically.
Kicked me out because I was black

Amazing food and amazing service. Quang is very passionate about his craft, including the effort he puts into his food.
Despite this place being takeout only, and cash only, please, Don’t let that stop you from grabbing the best Chinese cuisine in North Hollywood ! And also you can’t beat the prices. The dishes are about $9 each. Sodas are $2.50 each. Ice cold. Enough to serve 2 adults with leftovers. Again, for the search bar’s sake: this place has very good Chinese food!!
