I have eaten at Bob’s in Van Nuys since I was a teenager until it closed, and then I have continued to eat at various locations. I went to Northridge last night, April 5th. I am 82 years old! That’s a lot of visits. I was horrified when I received my bill. I brought my 3 grandsons there for our dinner accompanied by their 3 friends, I was charged $39.20 for a 18% service fee and a 18% tip!!!. I will NOT be going to Bob’s again. My total bill came to over $139.00, which I wouldn’t mind IF I wasn’t charged $39 20 extra. I used my AARP card and did get a discount but paid a total of $126.93. Check 4381; Table 70/1. I don’t mind paying for dinner but I absolutely do NOT like paying an extra fee of $18% for service.

I ordered two large salads as take out. When I got home which is 20 minutes away my husband and I started to eat the salads. The lettuce was gritty and unclean. I immediately called the restaurant to speak to a manager, none on duty. I was told to call back tomorrow by a male. I called back the next day and spoke with the manager Lorena. She asked why I didnt call last night and bring the salads back? I said I did call and was told by this male to call back tomorrow. I told her I still have the salads in my refrigerator. She said we didnt have any males working last night and I need to bring the salads in. She was rude so I am saving all of us trouble and disputing the charge with my credit card company.

I really enjoyed my grilled chicken sandwich, although the chicken fillet has gotten very thin. The fries were great, the best of all, our server, Juan, was perfect. He was professional, not intrusive, in major everything was cooked to our expectations. We're always glad we chose Bob's Big Boy!

Good old Bobs Big Boy ! Used to eat there in the 60’s in Inglewood! My middle daughter, in her 30’s was feeling nostalgic and we headed out to dinner. It was all right but I don’t think we’ll be going out of our way to get back anytime soon. They have beer now so that was something new.

For a burger place they screwed it up pretty bad. On top of that this place is very run down. Service was great but food and atmosphere sucked very bad. I also found a hair in my food.

I went to order the Big Boy Combo as I did in my childhood years. The server Lori was very on point and attentive. I didn't have to ask for refills. She noticed my glass half full and proceeded to refill. The red sauce in the burger gave it that extra flavor and the string fries were cooked just right and tasty. Very nostalgic environment with oldies music playing throughout. I enjoyed my meal. The service was great all around from the point I entered the restaurant throughout my meal.

Despite many very negative reviews, my visit was positive. I didn't notice torn booths or duct tape repairs. Everything seemed clean. Service was excellent, and the food was fine. Typical diner experience.
