We were in town and stopped here. It was clean restaurant. Very small and the lady was very nice. But the food! Not authentic Mexican food the salsa tasted like gravy not salsa at all. Food was kinda nasty. Husband had a burrito he left it all… first and last time there.

The loaded carneasada fries are to DIE for at Castillo. The food comes fast, there’s chips and salsa while you wait, and the seating is really comfy. I have eaten here 3 times and loved it every single time.
Came in for some lunch, ordered the chicken shredded burrito and the machacado con huevos and they both tasted really well. Food was out within 15 minutes, and the prices were reasonable.

I was CRAVING some good hard shell tacos and Castillos knocked it out of the park! The moment I unwrapped the taco and saw the shell I knew I was in for a treat. I almost didn't come here because I didn't see hard shell tacos on the menu but I'm glad I came and asked. Easy 5 Stars!

First time here and I was so hungry me and my mom ordered a chicken torta and a carne asada torta they were both terrible no flavor dry chicken, carne asada was chopped we thought it was ground meat it all kept falling out super dry they said their was guacamole we didn't see it, we could not eat it was so bad very disappointing, not to mention the terrible smell of the restroom not sure how or why this place is open! First and last time I will ever eat here! Yuk!

Same tastie food everytime, can't go wrong love this place!!!!
Great quality and quantity of food for pre-inflation prices. I'll be thinking about the rice for the rest of the week. They were so fluffy and perfectly seasoned. If you love hole in the wall restaurants this one is fantastic!Parking: Parking depends on how busy the Laundromat is but for the most part is available.

Was in the area and craving machaca. So glad I found this place on Yelp. It was early in the day so not crowded. It's a small place, nothing fancy, and pretty hidden. Friendly service, accommodating, and quick. Ordered a machaca plate, an asada burrito, and horchata. Free chips and salsa when dining in. The spicy salsa was so dang good and made my scalp sweat! Everything was so delicious, including the rice and beans. The ratio of meat to rice in the burrito was on point. Will definitely be back!
K the food was aight and the place was fine.service was not that good. Ambiance was bad

For years my family dined at Sabroso Mexican Restaurant on Vanowen and Corbin in Canoga Park. We were quite saddened when they were forced to close due to the pandemic. Sabroso was nowhere near fancy, but it was authentic Mexican food with wonderful employees. And its salsa was incomparable. Or so we thought until we found Castillo Mexican Restaurant. The salsa is amazing and they have marvelous carnitas tacos and Chile rellenos which are my personal favorites. Like Sabroso, it has comfortable seating and is very informal. You place your order at the counter and they bring it to your table, freshly made and hot ( heatwise and spicy). Excellent rice and beans and fresh, warm tortillas.Who could ask for anything more?Castillo's will be our new haunt for sure.
