Small and cozy (and hidden above Panda Express on the corner of Reseda and Nordhoff), this Japanese eatery offers traditional dishes at reasonable prices and large portions. The service was prompt and friendly. The chicken katsu curry and seafood Ramen are the two best dishes.

Food was little bland. The service when I picked it up was not good at all. She gave me the wrong change back on top of waiting so long to pick up my food. She charged me 3.50 or 4 for the chili garlic oil which is crazyyy because I thought that was on the side. But that sauce really pulled through and made these dishes good! Without the sauce, everything was not flavorful. Seating inside is small and is on level two of the plaza

Amazing ambience, food and service. Attentive, thoughtful and hospitable!! Our rainy day staple. Love the tonkotsu.

Been here two times and it's so good every time! It's hidden upstairs in a strip mall and can be unassuming but the food speaks for itself. I've ordered both the ramen and their rice dishes, and honestly their rice dishes have stood out to me. Both their pork Katsu with curry and their pork katsu dons have been so delicious and the portions are HUGE for a reasonable price. Their staff is also very friendly and accommodating for a party of 6 in their relatively small restaurant, so we still feel very welcome. Will continue to return here for a warming delicious meal!

Absolutely delicious! Everything here is amazing. The staff is so friendly and makes eating here so much better. I love how cozy the restaurant is.

This is the best ramen spot in the valley when it rains. I used to come here all the time with my mom years ago and just went by myself a couple weeks ago when the storm hit. The Futaba Ramen fills you right up and the unagi bowl was a sweet yummy addition. It gets busy sometimes as expected and there's not a lot of space but it's worth the wait! The service was amazing as always and feels like Japan. I definitely recommend!

Amazing Japanese restaurant! Their katsu chicken curry is one of the best curries I've ever had! The atmosphere inside is also very nicely decorated from the different seats and benches, to the walls and tapestries. If you like ramen and other Japanese dishes, come here!

Futaba is everything you want and more! It is in the perfect location right next to CSUN. Right when you walk in you are greeted by the lovely employees who take great care of you the entire rest of your time there. All of the appetizers are amazing. Last time we got the gyoza and it was so good, especially dipped in the garlic soy sauce. I look forward to trying more of the appetizers. The Katsu curry and the garlic ramen were such hits. They were so comforting and delicious. The portions are big and great for dinner. For dessert, we had the tempura ice cream and it was one of the best desserts I have ever had. I highly recommend getting it. Futaba is unique in all of the options they have and all of those options being so delicious. They have a diverse amount of drinks, appetizers, entrees, and many vegetarian options. It is way more than your typical ramen spot!

Located upstairs, the place is small, but the service was fast, the staff was attentive, and most of all, the food was good. We tried the Futaba Tonkatsu Ramen (spicy) and the Pork Katsu Curry, and we will come back for more.

I visited Futaba for my first time about 2 weeks ago because my friends wouldn’t stop raving about it. Let me start by saying that if you have any sort of dietary restriction, avoid this place at all costs. They don’t care at all.I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen with chicken broth instead of pork and clearly told my server that I didn’t want chashu in my ramen because of my dietary restriction. As I’m eating my food, what do I find in my food buried under some noodles and broth? You guessed it - the chashu I specified not to include.I was annoyed, but mistakes happen. My server apologized and said that she’ll have a new one made for me. I reluctantly agreed. When I got my “new” bowl of ramen, I noticed that there was a piece of a bamboo shoot that I had taken a bite out of from my previous bowl that was still in the “new” one, confirming that all they did was take the chashu out of the broth and add a little more soup/noodles to it to make it look like it was remade.Even after this incident, the server had the audacity to offer to remake it again. I told her to take my order off the bill because there was no way in hell that I was going to pay for dishonesty. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I will never be returning.TLDR: Dishonest establishment and mid food. If you have any sort of dietary restriction, don’t come here. Even if you don’t, there are plenty of better ramen spots in the valley and beyond.

This is a good place to eat. Great food and nice portions as well. The service is fast and they are very attentive and helpful. Inside is not too small or big either. We love it

came with friends who recommend this place and told us the orders are big so me and my aunt decided to share a combo of Futaba Ramen and Teriyaki Salmon over rice. we also added the Agedashi tofu appetizer. our 2 other friends also shared a combo of Futaba ramen+eel over rice. we also ordered chicken katsu curry over rice, fried shrimps and edamame in garlic truffle sauce. food came soon enough and surprisingly each plates are large enough for a big man's appetite. (I wished I remember to take photos of the food). the rice bowl is not too big at first glance but it's a deep bowl that there's lots of rice under the grilled eel and salmon that covered the top of the bowls. curry chicken is very juicy and tender served on a huge plate of rice with lots of tasty curry sauce. edamame is also in a nice flavorful sauce, some people may find it a little over cooked. fried shrimps are more like popcorn shrimps, but flavor is there. 4 of us could only finish 1/2 of every dish and ended up taking 1/2 of all of our order home. this is a busy hole in the wall restaurant up on the 2nd floor of a small shopping center. I wouldn't have notice it if I just drive by. But it's surprisingly good taste and prices are reasonable. the only thing is that there's only 2 waitresses and they are so busy running around they weren't very responsive to water refills or table services. there continue to have a line of people waiting for seats, a few minutes after we sat down around 6:30pm on a Saturday. overall it's great flavor and portion for the right price. definitely recommend it for a quick and hearty meal.

Came back after a bit of not eating ramen, this spot still hits that ramen craving really good. I swear the food here is phenomenal, whatever they're doing don't stop! Still a cozy spot near CSUN to enjoy food and do some work. The service is good as always
