The food is this place is simply something that you have to try if you're gonna eat in Northridge, I've never had better food ever can I get a spam musubi Hawaiian barbecue chicken musubi but then can I take off like the honey stuff yeah Northridge ever especially in the Hawaiian category of food ever I literally cannot explain how good this Hawaiian barbecue chicken taste, and the chicken Katsu combo I'm cream to this chicken right now. The macaroni salad is simply something to die for the chef need to be paid $10 million a year simply because of how much that they're pumping out with the quality of their food also the ingredients of this place is absolutely great. I hope that more people come to this unknown restaurant because it is kind of tucked away, but it is one of the best restaurants that you should definitely try if you're gonna, die because you only live once.

I usually love this place but I'm sad to find a stand of hair in the middle of my spam masubi. Service is usually quick and easy. The food depending on the day can be a hit or miss. Some times it is burnt but when it's not it's actually pretty good.

The food was good. But we waited (along with a person in front of us) for several minutes before someone noticed we were even standing at the counter to place an order. The restaurant felt very ding, and lifeless. . The floor was sticky in several places. All things considered would have preferred to taken the food to go.
Since 2019, I haven't been able to go back to Maui. Craving a good hearty loco moco. I decided to try it. I asked if they can make sunny side up eggs crispy. It's really good! The eggs were cooked perfectly, just like I asked. The gravy is delicious. This gravy is the secret to this dish. It's was love at first bite! I am definitely coming back. The guy at the counter is very nice, polite and very accommodating. Hats off the the chef in the back. The place is clean, feel like you're in Hawaii, but not overwhelming.
I can't believe I'm writing this review with only 2 Stars. I've been coming here on and off for years now bc the food is so good. But tonight I am so disappointed in the place. I arrived still with 45 mins before they were closing and when I went to order the BBQ mix plate, I was told by the lady behind he counter that they "ran out of everything except Chicken Katsu"; I find that hard to believe, but I guess it happens. In any event, I ordered the chicken katsu nonetheless, plus two spam musubis, bc I wasn't in the mood for anything else this evening, I could have sworn though that the guy after me ordered a beef dish but I couldn't hear him and the lady kept looking at me like she was guilty. Maybe it was me, but what really took me by surprise she started to turn off the lights with 30 mins left before closing and while there were still customers in the store! I have no idea what's going on here but if she's not the owner, the owner needs to have a conversation with her and figure out how to get her to have better customer service and better manage the inventory. If she is the owner well then.....

Ordered takeout from this location tonight, and it was excellent as always! We prefer this location to another Hawaiian BBQ in the Northridge area, as this location is open later, seems to offer better portions and has better macaroni salad (at least according to my wife!) Anyway, food is very tasty here, especially the BBQ chicken & beef, and I appreciate their friendly customer service and attention to order detail. (In the 5 years or so we've been ordering from here, we've never had an incorrect takeout order!) Definitely a 4 - 5 star Hawaiian BBQ spot!
