I had an amazing experience at Yanagi Sushi in Northridge. The fish was super fresh—some of the best I’ve had in the Valley—and the rolls were packed with flavor (highly recommend the Honma Roll). The vibe is cozy and lowkey, and the staff made me feel right at home. You can tell it’s a place that cares about quality and their regulars. Definitely a new favorite spot. @sushitraveler

Today was the third time I have eaten at this spot. The food is solid, but I've always had a "feeling." Today, when I asked how much Amber Jack Carpaccio was, the sushi chef told the server, possibly his mother, that it was on the menu. The menu is a small book, so I asked if he could just tell me the price (he didn't). Then I heard a ruckus over my ear pods, It seemed the sous chef did something wrong, and he admonished him in front of customers. Unacceptable. I won't be back!

I saw a lot of ads on Instagram, didn't realize it's quite close to where I live so decided to give it a try. The food ain't bad! As far as sushi places go, it didn't break any new ground but I liked the taste of what I ordered: Salmon skin hand roll, unagi and some special baked roll I forgot the name of. Service was also good though the place is on the small side. Price was reasonable too! Suggestion to the owner: Maybe change the sign that says "All Oriental Food" to "Premium Japanese Food"?
