Way too overpriced for what it is now. I remember this place had tons of people coming in and out every session when it was $100 per month. During the pandemic, when COVID rates were high, the owner decided to raise the price to $150 a month, and I remember hearing him say the price change would only be temporary until everything settled down. Well, It's been almost 2 years now, and it's STILL $150 per month! Slowly but surely, many people stopped coming to sessions, and eventually, SUF Norwalk moved to a smaller location in La Miranda. I don't remember hearing why SUF Norwalk moved, but I'm guessing it's because they couldn't afford rent anymore. The new location is 2x smaller and has a lot less equipment. The old location had a ton of power racks, 5 GHDs, 5 bikes, 15+ benches, mirrors all over the place, a ton of space to run around in, and so much more; It was paradise. The new location has like two or three power racks that we don't even use, some dumbbells, around 3 GHDs and bikes, a FRACTION of what we had in Norwalk. Because of the lack of space and equipment, we had to change our workout routines to mostly simple dumbbell and rubber band exercises. If you had 500 dollars laying around, you'd have enough to buy equipment needed to replicate the workouts SUF provides for a LIFETIME. A month here is worth FOUR MONTHS in LA Fitness. No hate on the owner of the company, but I felt the need to make this review. I wish you the best of luck, Straight-Up fitness. You'll forever be in my heart.

This gym is amazing. For a while I was deciding what I wanted to do fitness wise and I found that group training is really beneficial for me. As I was looking around on Yelp and got a recommendation from a friend, I decided to give SUF a try and signed up for their 3 week trial. I was not disappointed & I'm so happy to be a member now. Things I love about SUF: - The classes are only 45 minutes and you're constantly moving throughout the entire workout. I can see why people get such great results here because your heart rate is always up. They also have a variety of times available which I really appreciate. - For a while I felt a lot of resentment went it came to the gym. I think it's because when you go into your standard gym, you have to know what you want to do but it's easier said than done. This place takes all that extra stress off your shoulders. You go in, do what they tell you to do and your out. Simple & effective. I actually really enjoy going now. I can also feel myself getting stronger every time I go to class which is such a huge accomplishment for me. - The sense of community at SUF is really amazing. Sometimes when joining a new gym it's a little nerve wracking because you have a fear of falling behind or not fitting in. But at SUF everyone wants you to do well. Both the members and trainers are really friendly. I've never felt intimidated or out of place here. - The gym itself is really nice. I love how its very open & there's a lot of air flow. They also have us do some workout's outside which is really nice if you're indoors all day due to your job. The gym equipment is great and the restrooms are always clean. -The membership is VERY fair. If you compare it to other places in the surrounding area for the same group training environment - the prices are astronomical. I love that SUF is making fitness affordable. Overall - I would say if you're thinking about joining, I would just do it. Try it out for 3 weeks, I 10/10 guarantee that you would love it.

Straight up Fitness is more than a transformation center, they become family because they care and treat you like family. Michael, the owner, truly cares about every member's well-being. He's always encouraging and motivating and pushes you to be your best. He greets everyone he encounters, and knows everyone's name. This Norwalk location is the flagship gym, and the first to open of the three locations. I've worked out at all locations, and they are great. All of the trainers are fantastic humans! They have the best energy, play great music, and train us very well. I seriously haven't met a trainer I didn't like. Actually, I take that back. When I first started, there was a crazy trainer, but he didn't last and I never saw him again. That's one the best things about SUF, they'll get rid of bad energy and focus on the good. I've joined every weight loss program, gym, boot camp, out there... you name it, I've tried it. None have ever compared to the quality of SUF. I've never been so successful at losing weight, gaining muscle, losing inches, losing fat, in my life! In one year of consistent workouts and counting calories and macros, I've lost over 40 lbs and kept it off. I've dropped 8 dress sizes and it keeps dropping! The difference with SUF and any other program I've done, is that the people care. Not just the employees, but the like-minded friends I've made. Everyone is there, cheering you on, when you think you can't possibly lift any heavier, squat any lower, they're all there, cheering you on. It's amazing! If you join the Elite program, you get access to a nutritionist, or food police, as we call her, who helps you figure out what to eat and what not to eat. The gym also offers a food prep service and it's also amazing! I used it my first 3 months there, until I got the hang of it and was able to prep on my own. At the end of the day, YOU, are accountable for your own being, and YOU, have to want it, in order to stay focused and determined. But, I will tell you, the amount of support you get at Straight Up Fitness, is unlike any other around. Worth every penny, if you a Reach out with questions, and I'll happily answer, from my own experience. If you're in search of looking your best and feeling your best, ever, come to SUF. You will not be disappointed. Trust the process.

Honestly, im pretty obsessed/ impressed with this gym. I joined the 21 day challenge and this will be my third week there and im most definately getting a membership and heres why: - CONVENIENCE: the workouts are only 45 minutes but they cram so much into that time. They offer a variety of times as early as 4 am and as late as 8 pm on most weekdays. Also they have a location in la palma, norwalk and long beach. -RESULTS: i am an avid goer of hot yoga and it has been my go to workout for the past few years and i hit somewhat of a weight loss plateau and no matter how much i sweat or how often i went, i never really saw the physical results that i wanted. after gaining all the holiday weight, i knew it was time to take my weight loss more seriously. i just finished my second week at SUF and ive already lost 5 lbs by utilizing their meal plan as a guide and combining it with intermittent fasting and carb cycling. im only 5 feet so 5 lbs is noticable for me. i still go to yoga at least once a week but now circuit training at SUF is my main workout. -COMMUNITY: it was so hard for me to leave my yoga studio and go to SUF because there was a sense of community. SInce i was there for over a year, they felt like family to me. Finding that sense of community at SUF was very easy. you go in and everyone is so friendly. I never even met the owner yet and he already knew my name! he knows the name of evey single person at the gym and doesnt forget it. its actually very impressive. i never felt intimidated or out of place and i love that about SUF.-ADDICTIVE AF: i was so scared to go the first day because i didnt think i could handle to workout and even tho i got my a$$ handed to me i wanted to keep going back for more. maybe its the mascohist in me but i went back every single day and was low key upset when i realized they were closed on sundays.

Where do I possibly begin? I have so many positive things to say about straight-up fitness! Although, it would probably take me an entire day to go into full detail to tell you why, here is my brief version:Straight up fitness is unlike any other gym...the moment you walk through the front door, you are greeted by the friendly and professional trainers. All of them are extremely knowledgeable about what they do, give great workouts, help you correct your form and give you valuable information to help you reach your fitness goals. The trainers here take the time to get to know you by name, especially the owner, Michael. I really have never met any trainers that are so humbling and inspiring. They definitely LEAD by example. At straight up fitness, you walk in and instantly feel a sense of community. If it isn't the trainers encouraging you to push through the workouts, it's the people around you with similar goals cheering you on! Doesn't matter if it's a stranger you've never met before- SUF promotes a positive community with positive energy! At SUF, you witness so many people walk through the door as they try SUF for the first time and there is no judgement- just SUPPORT! Everyone is cheering each other on! It's the support and community that makes you actually look forward to the trainers, their work outs and the friends you will make while attending! I can say from the bottom of my heart that working out at SUF is the highlight of my day (hence- now I'm going twice a day).Another benefit of Straight up fitness is that they have delicious meal plans, a variety of delicious protein powders and supplements. They also have private training sessions and other programs that can help you meet your individual fitness needs/goals! I am currently doing my first round of their Elite program and couldn't be happier with my results! With Elite, the staff holds you accountable for your nutrition and workouts! The other participants in the program help hold you accountable as well. They're hard work and progress is motivation in itself! I am beyond grateful for Michael, Sonia, all SUF trainers, SUF Norwalk and the community! Thank you for my great work outs and my strong and encouraging friends/fellow participants from SUF! Two months in and I am happy to announce that I've surpassed my original goal in starting this 12 week program! I regret not joining sooner. I am currently down 25+lbs and still counting. You can get results too! TRUST THE PROCESS! You just have start, try SUF&WANT it! Consistency is key! Thank you Michael and everyone at Straight up fitness!

I did the 21-day challenge and really enjoyed this gym. So much variety and you never get bored. The trainers have a lot of enthusiasm and knowledge of all the different exercises and equipment. Hands down, one of my favorite gyms. There's a good mix of cardio and strength in every workout and the best part about it, it's very efficient. There is also great parking available for the Norwalk gym, which is where I went. I definitely recommend Straight Up Fitness for all levels of your fitness goals.
